me either, too many giving airtime to the RAWA. they have again grown too big for their boots. KLD needs to realise that RAWA do not represent the majority of fans, they just represent a small number of their own members who have put forward questions for the meeting. My view is that the vast majority of our fans are happy to give KLD time to implement his plans for the club, he's only been here five minutes.
I just don't get what the issue is or why people think they have a god given right to know. From day one KLD has said that SD,CM and JS have retained some shares but he is the majority shareholder. What difference does the actual % make if he has the majority? Can't wait to see the reactions of some when it is revealed that SAFC is owned by an offshore company and that's all that is said. Seeing how some are already saying that there's something to hide by using an offshore company rather than just thinking along the simple lines of reduced tax rates
It reminds me of secondary school when 'the clever ones' would show off by asking the 'cleverest' question. I find this RAWA self promotion a little unpleasant in all honestly ... .. despite respecting, and in one case knowing, some of the lads involved.
The language is purposely vague. There is additional investment coming in soon. Was meant to happen already and a new member to the board however, it may have changed a little. Should see it happen over the Christmas period. Nothing to work into a frenzy over mind.
I’ve come to realise just how toxic a lot of our fan base can be. It seems like they aren’t happy unless they’ve got something to kick off about. It will get to the point where it becomes a hindrance to progress.
As usual I got totally carried away and thought it would be 'imminent' ... ... a word that continually bites me on the arse
That's the Sunderland fan in you mate. Nothing wrong with it. However, the internet age is always happy to burn people at the immediate possiblity of things changing slightly. Mugs. KLD is not a mug and if some Safc fans are happy to whip up the negativity to try and push people to their podcast then they need to look at themselves.
Have ppl been living on Mars these last 12 months, he's trying to look cleverer than others by spouting his 'financial ' nous. Instead, imo he has shown him to be the dick I thought he was anyway. We already knew they were still involved...but with minimum say.
Yes we all care about the club and how its ran and having dumb and dumber involved albeit in a minority isn't what we would class as a best case scenario but as fans we have to trust what KLD and other members of the board are doing. The one thing that can take from the new setup is that Sir Bob is happy with KLD and what he wants to achieve, whereas he seemed to have no time for both Short and the chuckle brothers. He will be privy to the behind the scenes than probably most of us fans and if he seems satisfied that can only be a good thing. Lets just let KLD get on with running the club and support the club on the pitch, nit picking about who owns what is not gonna help to get us out of this ****ty league
Can always rely on this forum to brighten your day. I was reading twitter full of concern and now my mind is at ease.
Just read the full minute of the meeting then started reading the comments, all I can assume is that there are a lot of people who don’t understand how meetings of this sort work and especially how the minutes are written. All I can see is a club wanting to engage with fans, using this as a channel to allow feedback. Feedback by its nature will in the main be negative, you make your mouth go f you are happy in these sorts of meetings. On the ownership, it is simple KLD has full control of the club. Now can we get back to backing the players we have while the club gets on with sorting out the mess caused by the previous owners?
But aren't the minutes supposed to be checked by the participants? That's a pretty big miss and doesn’t really make me likely to believe, let alone support, anything in these minutes.
If he is telling the truth then one question, why is the mendacity about ownership necessary? It might be a private company but it is operating in one of the most public of arenas. Do we really condone SAFC owners and directors going back to the 1950s style of club dealings?
Yes - but the minutes are not self-consistent, unless Ozzymac is right. Which may well be. But why does it matter? Yes we need transparency but they have already told us what is going on. The underlying problem the new board needs to overcome is the massive trust breakdown that occurred before KLD and KS came on board. I was really encouraged that KLD seems to recognize this in taking the time to provide the post meeting note added to the end of the minutes. Seems that SD briefed him pretty quickly afterwards.
At any given moment there is a group of sensitive souls who want to be angry about something. Stewart and Methven turned out to be a pair of asset stripping pricks who literally sold our kids to keep the lights on, keeping them as part owners is a PR nightmare, Lee Johnson can’t win a game after a cracking set of results etc. Chris Weatherspoon knew any tyre kicking would be ignored during a good run and looks to have waited until the knee jerkers were at their twitchiest. That way his “revelations” look big and clever while a shouty minority of fans turn against the club and everyone else suffers.
Minutes are geneally a certified true and accurate record of a meeting. If they are incorrect there is a problem because those attending can't be arsed to check what is reported as being said was correct. If they are not self-consistent then either the minute taker and checkers aren't fulfilling their function or someone is trying to pull the wool over the eyes of the attendees and their representees (us fans). It remains to be seen if there is any corrected set of minutes issued. With respect to addressing the underlying trust problem, dodgy minutes from meetings with fans were an issue under the last ownership were they not? Going forward though, what trust are we gaining by our owners refusing to make public the share ownership figures for the club?!
