Agree totally. But don’t tell the bloke who sits next to me (not my dad, the fella on the other side) who just slated him second half start to finish! May one point he said “what’s our centre half doing there” seemingly not even realising he’d completely changed formation and who was playing well. I’d start Tuesday like that definitely.
I think it's because the performances and results over last couple of months have been underwhelming. I mean is it 2 out of 9 now ? Apathy soon sets in. We need a big win and some confidence back in asap.
Because he wants LJ gone? I’m not condoning what he did, just speculating about his motive for publicising it.
I know exactly what you mean. Having watched the highlights back, the players worked their socks off the manager made the right calls second half hit the woodwork twice we were desperately unlucky not to win. I was quite critical after the game but I think thats probably born out of frustration having been in this league so long and constantly on the verge of cracking it. we've had so many "nearly" days like yesterday. If we can get a few back from injury and add a couple in the window hopefully this will be our season. Good performance needed on Tuesday to give us a boost. The troops are becoming a bit war weary.
I’d love for him to have a full squad to choose from. Will that ever happen? In the meantime, taking into consideration the injury situation, I think he is doing a good job. He has his faults but so does every manager. I’ve said before that a decent manager would turn things around by Xmas and there are signs he is doing that. So let’s see where we are after the Xmas games before making a decision on him.
, try that link from twitter. I think JD also posted it himself. There will be more savvy guys on here who can probably post the vid.
Some of the comments baffle me a bit. Thought we played well second half. Strikers unlucky, but that is not something Johnson can coach. Hitting woodwork is just fine margins. Our bench yesterday showed how injuries have hampered us. It isnt so much the numbers but the positions, it has robbed Johnson of the chance to change the game from the bench. He is managing with one arm tied behind his back at the minute. We are hanging in now and I think it will be like that until the new year. Anyone thinks we will roll over Morecambe is hoping. They have the leagues top scorer and we are weak up front at the minute. If we can scrape a 1 goal victory it would be great. To those who say we are Sunderland and we should smash Morecambe is kidding themselves, this Sunderland squad is working its way up from the lowest ever and rigjht now playing Morecambe is no pushover, just like Oxford werent. We need to be realistic, whilst retaining optimism.
I can see most of us disagreeing here but of them Cirkin, Huggins & O9 would be my choices. With a full squad however they can all be 1st 11's or a bloody good bench to have.
Who would your three starters be? Cirkin onien, and Huggins would be for me ,Evans fully fit likely would too so I make that 4. .mcgeady a top sub who can make a big impact on a game.
To be fair that's a third of the outfield team which is a fair chunk in anyone's money. The absences also weaken our bench which doesn't help. I'd say Huggins and Cirkin are big absences, McGeady and O'Nien are important.
Cirkin has shown enough to show he will be a big player for us and I'm quite excited to get Huggins back think he will be a little crowd pleaser judging by his game against Wigan. Real shame he got such a bad injury. His game is all about energy so could take a while to get him up to speed I can see them being our established full backs for the run in.
I'm just pointing out that we have 6 players, 3 of which would not be classed as shoe ins every week so the bleating from some about our injury list rings a bit hollow for me.. Take Willis and Xehmaji out of the equations we are very light , no question.
