I've got absolutely no issue with not signing JD on the proviso that another forward is signed. It would be absolute madness to go into the next 10 games having O'Brien and Benji as replacements if Stewart gets an injury. It doesn't even bear thinking about. I honestly think we'd struggle to make the playoffs if that, God forbid, happens.
Not sure if it's been confirmed that Defoe is not coming but I'd be delighted if he did come and would wish him all the best if he decided to do something else. No way he wouldn't add something to our squad but he's got to make the right choice for himself and that might not be us. Hope it is though
Think at 39 he won't be expecting to be starting mind , even at Oxford he's not gonna start . Hes barley kicked a ball recently so doubt he's all of a sudden gonna demand first team football
Don't think so it will be because we can't match Oxfords wage. Has KLD actually paid a transfer fee yet? Also what happened to the new pitch??..Guess what it didn't happen. It's as if the 2 chancers are still running the show.....maybe they are???
There's no budget, because we're still paying off Martin Bain's watches and coffee machines he paid for.
Come on man We've paid fees for Winchester, Stewart, Huggins, Cirkin & Hume. Bearing in mind transfers fees are unusual at L1 level. We've also paid loan fees for Alves, Doyle, Hoffmann, Dajaku & Broadhead. The new pitch was speculated about in the press. The club never stated this
Stewart, Huggins, Cirkin, Hume were all signed with us having to pay a fee. All the investment made at the academy for the data and scouting department. Probably more that I've missed but don't let that stop you having a dig at the club
Here’s capt comedown. How the **** do you know we can’t match oxford's wage? He may be demanding he starts every game. He may not like the way the club is set up. There’s loads of things that could put him off signing. Keith you not me know. so why speculate that we’re skint etc.
Possibly wages, location only an hour or so away from London and therefore his mam, closer to most media opportunities, more game time guaranteed, flexible about commute rather than living local, longer contract, future coaching opportunities. Basically any number of things that we may either not be able to offer or after full consideration be prepared to offer without even taking in to account that he may just be wary of returning and going out with a whimper, barely getting a game because Stewart has been so good.
Captain comedown...wtf??? I'm sick of being in this horrible ****ty league and being beaten by utter crap teams. We need to get out this league ASAP and if it means a little bit more investment on a proven goal scorer like JD then we should ensure it happens. If he signs for another L1 club instead....well you know the script
It’s definitely not the end of the world if by missing out on him we go out and get another Ross Stewart like we did this time last year
