For that third goal, I was 100% sure he would put it through the keeper’s legs and score. Haven’t been that confident in a City goalscorer since…. Jarrod Bowen.
Ince’s post match comments are hilarious… https://www.getreading.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/paul-ince-reading-hull-city-23753248
Landed At Doncaster airport around 12.30, got through customs ect and was in car for 13.10, got home picked up our passes, cases in the kitchen and off we went. Must admit first half I was sat wishing I was still in Spain however we went in at ht 1.0 up and in all honesty it could have gone either way, there was a lack of shots from both sides, slow build up from us and not a lot happening. However second half we were better and you have to be happy with 3.0.
Special mention to the Turkish tigers in the SE corner. Never shut up all game although sadly their chants didn't catch on. Good luck to Bursaspor and Sivasspor for the rest of the season!
Hull boss Shota Arveladze told BBC Radio Humberside: "It's great to win in front of our supporters, having three goals, the best score from the season. "I think everything we did well and we should be happy for this day. "They had to change [after conceding] and we reacted. They put more offensive players on and gave more space in the back. We catch this space and then Keano [Lewis-Potter] scores." On a new contract for Lewis-Potter: "Not yet [we haven't offered him one]. Of course we will have to, but then it's up to him."
From the sounds of it, he's expecting the embargo to carry on for them next season. That could make things very, very difficult for them.
Great result! First half was a bit pedestrian but they seemed to play with a bit more freedom and confidence in individual play. I was worried they'd be getting the deckchairs out but that gives me hope of more points to come before the end of the season. Let's give the media-loving 'bear-punching' , 'clean-sheeted' bell-end at Brizzie a bloody nose next sat. C'mon City!!
I'd rather sign John Swift, who is available on a free. There'll be a lot of competition for his signature, but I reckon we could persuade him. Rinomhota and Laurent would also be very good to bolster our midfield and are also out of contract.
Great day out at the football today. Bit of a slow start, but got going after we scored. WTF was Baxter’s yellow card for - time wasting? I’ll be honest, that barely registered on the time wasting radar. Alan McGregor could probably have squeezed loads more out of it before the ref reached for his pocket.
