I thought we played well especially the first 30 mins of the second half, that little bit of luck didn't our way today, the first goal some people were saying Tazz just got a toe to the shot which pushed it past Stockdale, couldn't see from our position. What ruined the day was Wenbley & their scanners packing up let my son & grandson in, not me then had to go & find the ticket office with hundreds of others. Then Chiltern Railways for completely making a mess of getting people home, we managed to get on a train at 18.55 after queueing for nearly two hours, their must have hundreds behind us god knows what time they got on a train. So I must say it was very kind of them to lay on extra trains otherwise we could have still been stood in the queue, oh & to add to the mess we had a couple of older people around us collapse with the standing & waiting. Thanks Chiltern Railways I will pay the £30 next time & take the car.
A nice day out at Wembley apart from the first 12 and last 12 minutes of the game we didn't get started and it was no surprise when we conceded after 12 minutes after that we huffed and puffed had lots of possession but very little end product we started the second half well but when we had chances we either took an extra touch or didn't work their keeper and when they got the second that was that we stayed on to show our support to Gaz and the lads and having been to Wembley on a few occasions I knew that Chiltern Railways couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery so we got the train into Marylebone at 5.25pm there was only a small queue Marylebone at 5.40 then straight onto the next platform to get the train to Banbury that left at 6pm arrived 7.03 on time it stopped at Wembley 6.13 but only a few people got on
to repeat what i have said elsewhere... the WW fans, players and staff have been nothing but gracious after the game, from what i have heard both sets of fans mixed well and just had a good day out...good luck for next season lads, now we are out we have to stay out.
Wish you had warned me Guy it would have been worth paying the extra to go to Marykebone then back out, there was five queues ABCDE at Wembley A for London, B for Gerrads Cross, Beaconsfield, & High Wycombe, the other queues were for Oxford, Banbury what the other one was I have no idea, what was really galling all trains have to go through Wycombe so why the problem. I should think Chiltern Railways twitter & press has been a complete PR disaster. As for the game we do seem to have a problem starting the first 20-30mins against the top sides, the games I have seen this season, Sunderland home, Oxford home, Plymouth home & even Franchise in the play-off first leg once we get over that time & score as well. we usually get on well in the games. I suppose Sunderland supporters are now expecting to race through the Championship.
Unlucky on the day lads, but I'm sure you will be back up there again next season. Hopefully, we can join you
You didn't have to pay extra as you didn't leave the platform It must have been queue A we were in had a seat all the way back
Reminds me of Southend final Guy (sorry about that). The getting on the train to London and getting a seat all the way back, whist others were queuing for ages and had to stand. We even had the Don't you worry, about a thing, 'cos every little thing is gonna be alright
You missed the left hand side where I was. There were a few Sunderland supporters with us. One very nice lady gave me a big long hug after the presentation, which I watched just to our right, even after I said I was a Wycombe supporter. She had been supporting Sunderland since she was 5 and was very emotional. Very touching
