I'm probably in the minority but I agree. Shota seems like a nice guy but I've yet to see anything from his management or tactics so far to convince me he's the right guy for the job. I'm more than happy to be proved wrong of course, I just don't see anything in him.. obviously Acun does and that's why he was given the opportunity, but I would have liked to have seen Acun be a bit more ambitious and employ a proven manager rather than a friend who's had a very average managerial career.
Shota summed it up well. I don’t think he could have done any more with what he had available either. The lads clearly ran out of steam too early due to fitness. If it weren’t for the GK and defenders, we would have lost. It’s great to have 4 points from the first two games. The manager shouldn’t be getting any stick IMO. At least he didn’t try and defend from the off. That would have invited more pressure and I don’t think we’d have got anything from it. Onwards and upwards from here. UTT!
I just think when you go around saying you want to play an attractive style you’d like to see that in glimpses at the very least. Not really seen much yet but I’m hoping to be proven wrong when additions and players return. Think that’s a big issue for us right now. I thought we’d have 0 points at this stage so im happy as it stands
Defence was good Shota’s fine so far based on what he has, but please make the new players and Seri aware they have to expect someone on their back on the pitch immediately and not get caught with the ball as so many were today . Positive is our passing in the first half was really good at times.
Is this going to turn into the same McCann bashing we always got? We're 5th and are unbeaten. We have a tonne of injuries and many of the new signings aren't up to speed yet. There's nothing on the bench so there has to be realism. I'm delighted with 4 points from 2.
That we aren’t even giving them service… One of them scored 15 goals in the Portuguese premier league last season with PROPER service
IMO the two strikers are not getting the right service, fast wide wingers crossing early. Passing accuracy needs to improve. The defense will hopefully improve the more they play together. The midfield is the area that needs a good looking at. Ingram make some very good saves but his outfield kicking was poor.
Re Covil yes give the lad a break. At one point he showed excellent skills in the opponents box. I am willing him on and hoping for big things from him.
They both got good track records of scoring goals. They'll be fine as long as we actually supply them
Tetteh has a decent assists ratio. He does get involved in goals and was playing in a struggling side last year.
Well we'll be bringing in a 10 and probably Halil too who can also play as a 10. There's not much more we can do. We know there's an issue, but will probably need patience to solve it
It's reassuring that we targeted Richie Laryea IMO. A very attacking RWB, so at least we know theres a problem there. I do wonder if the long term plan is Sinik LWB and an equally attacking option on the right.
I've wondered that too recently. On his WhoScored page, one of his strengths is listed as defensive contribution and as long as he's okay defensively it'll do. I mean Elder never seems to be able to stop a cross. He was standing off Brady when he came on. Allahyar did pretty well back there again.
