we're only one place behind man utd, in case nobody's mentioned it. i see klp didn't get a run-out for brentford.
Good job we won and Shota won’t be replaced by Sam Allardyce. Now he is free to take the reins at Man Utd.
Also in the first half, Tufan’s Cruyff turn in the middle and playing Alfie Jones in. Only problem was it was Alfie Jones and not Oscar.
I didn’t see a single fan sat down at Bradford on Tuesday, there were probably some in wheelchairs somewhere, but I didn’t see them.
2 biggest ref ‘errors’ for me summed up. He was about 5 yards away staring straight at the ball when he managed to somehow not see it go off their player for what should have been a corner, but the most blatant one was indeed playing on for 5 or 6 passes for their attack, and then as soon as we took the ball and went on the attack suddenly, despite literally nothing changing, it was a head injury and play had to be stopped. Appalling. He was admittedly poor on both sides, and did let a few things go both ways, but even allowing for my bias he was dreadful and favoured the favourites IMHO *and to give even more weight to my opinion I hadn’t had a drink, at all, and was even there early enough to see kick off! By the way I assume us dropping back and sitting so deep when they were attacking was a tactical decision. Yes it happened in the last 20, but had been happening way before then too. It was almost like he simply backed our defence to not give a goal away whatever they did. It nearly didn’t work…but it did
We have had far worse refs than that. Maybe because I had the benefit of replays but none of those handball shouts were penalties, the corner thing with Tetteh was a goal kick. As I said the biggest decision he got wrong was when Greaves pulled Pukki to the ground when he was otherwise behind the defence and through on goal.
Was this ref anywhere near as bad as the one that sent Geo off against Burnley? Because that was genuinely the most appalling refereeing performance I have ever witnessed.
The allowing play to go on when Norwich player was down and stopped play when we were suddenly 2 vs 1 ?
May have been posted already, but if not here is a short video for you to file away under ‘Funny As ****’ (twice it’s so funny! Sky one probably better quality but you need to click through to it)
They picked up on that on the stream, the ref stopped play as soon as Aaron’s had started holding his head, which is the law of the game and he has to stop play when a player is holding their head.
Don’t forget the Burnley player, Graham Alexander, I think it was, tripped over the ball & he gave a penalty. Geo equalised, disallowed, then got sent off!
Bollocks He’d been laid out not moving for ages. Ref thought him being potentially dead was fine, but when he woke up and rubbed his head it was suddenly dangerous? Bollocks
3 games - 7 points, top of the table Where are all the post Bratfud bed-wetters now? For a team that is still gelling -and will be for some time, its great to have the points on the board that will give us a bit of a cushion as we go into what for me are two of our hardest looking away games of the season. Anything from the next 2 games will be a bonus IMO. Did we deserve to win today? Maybe - just. Good to have a goal poacher in the side and everyone played their part in a good battling performance. Did we shut up shop too early - I think so - but with another game midweek, Shota was trying to protect the fitness of some of our players. Great support again from the City faithful. I thought the ref gave them so much that he was going to run off celebrating when Norwich scored!
Yep I remember it all too well. Even Burnley fans I spoke to after the match admitted the ref was ****. I've actually just remembered the ref at Nottingham Forest who allowed Maccas handball goal. Was happy with that **** performance!
Yeah, and tbf to the ref, I did notice as soon as they lost possession, he did start holding his head. Also as it was that blatant, it did cross my mind whether the ref had a choice. Nasty horrible cheating ****er.
