If you look at the Reading players after that goal, at least four or five seem to be shaking their heads in disbelief.. Simply the best I've seen from any Sunderland Team

Its not so much the jump in quality thats such a huge step up (except for the usual suspects when facing the Fulhams, Norwich's etc.) Its the pressure of keeping consistancy what makes recently promoted sides struggle. In this league it is harder to get out of a rut I suspect. The challenge is to try not to get in one. It will be interesting to see how we react after 2-3 defeats on the bounce.

Best perhaps not to lose 3 games on the trot then?

For me only Sheffield United have looked really strong, we may well have got a result with 11 but if we are honest they probably did look a bit more complete than us.

We should have beaten Norwich, Coventry & QPR.

In reality with a bit of fortune and focus we could be top 2 right now, delighted with where we are of course I don’t think any of us expected us to be where we are and more than that looking the part for the league.

We knew the likes of Stewart, Roberts, Clarke etc we’re more than good enough for the league, and a few more, but several have stepped up and ALL of the new lads look the part.

It’s great to see and we will only get better. The buzz is there for all (bar the doom merchants who are always around…) to see.

It’s super early but it’s already starting to look like Mowbray is a better fit than Neil (who I absolutely liked). Just looks like he sees the best use of the individuals and wants to entertain.

We are great to watch at times. Not good, great to watch. When we play quick we are a really good side.

We have played several of the promotion fancies and never looked short, we play Rotherham and Reading, 2 pre-season relegation candidates and we take them apart.

Bit of pride creeping back in.

Can we all just rewatch the SECOND goal last night and not overlook it for the beauty of the 3rd. What a goal that is as well.

I was back, from the match, too late to see our goals on TV.

Watching the third had my head spinning, must've been horrendous for their players ...

... it reminded of the Harlem Globetrotters running rings round a team of lumpy dopes.

Tremendous performance from the lads and the fans last night.
Yes Reading were turd, that's not our problem.
We were mint and bossed it from Simms going off and were in truth worth a goal or two more than we got.
The goals were class and the third was sublime.
To be fair most sides would have just snapped one of Neil, Roberts or Pritchard on the halfway line mind.

love the way it starts off with a 'i am bored' type of droll and each pass he picks up speed and excitement, pretty much the same from bennet in the background.

There were half a dozen really L1 tackles.

    The ref eventually realised <doh>
