I think whoever’s in form mate, he’s proved if you come in and play well you’ll keep your place ie embo.

Depends on form, opponents set up, injuries etc but…

    Patterson / Bass

    Gooch / O’Nien
    Ballard / Wright
    Alese / Batth
    Cirkin / Huggins

    Evans / Ba
    Neil / Michut

    Clarke / Amad
    Pritchard / Embo
    Bennette / Roberts

    Stewart / Simms

… so yes I’m on the fence

long term planning in action as well. When Amad returns to Utd, Diamond should be ready to slip back in.

Having 5 subs per game, and a manager who’s willing and able to make best use of that flexibility, makes this less of a headache and more of a strength.

For example - Pritchard can run himself into the ground for an hour and then we can bring on a talented replacement with fresh legs for the last 30 minutes. It’s great!

I'd say Stewart is the only one of the injured lads who comes straight back in as soon as he's fit
You'd assume Simms will come back as we need a striker, but Ballard & Cirkin may have to bide their time

Also, a lot depends on what formation we are playing - looked like a back 4 yesterday

Looked like a back four most of the time, although we hoyed Alese forward for every goal kick. He was the only lad who could win a header and then get back to defend quickly. No wonder he got cramp.

There must be some guarantee of game time for Simms...but I hope it's structured so that TM can pick the formation he thinks is needed game by game. My worry now is that, given Stewart is undroppable, whatever promises have been made in relation to Simms (and he looks great thus far) doesn't affect TMs ability to pick the right side/setup for the occasion. Surely the club wouldn't put themselves in that position?

I'd love to know what the details of those type of loan arrangements can look like, if anyone has any insight, even at a lower level.
