I can personally vouch that @Albert's Chip Shop once bought me a pint and I don’t recall his finger nails being left in the glass.

So maybe he’s not as tight as they say.

He may have said that he bought the pint for you BUT who actually drank it?

"I'm just popping to the bogs and I'll get some drinks in on the way back"?
And did you see him actually go to the bar, or just walking back with a 'drink' for you?

That’s a very good point he seemed to be happier than normal when he planted the glass down.
