I didnt think he had any saves to make. How can you judge him if he didnt do anything?

I'm basing this on what I've seen of him not in a Leeds shirt, but he looks composed, on the ball and seems to have fantastic judgement. That one he tipped over the crossbar was brilliantly handled without even breaking a sweat. I saw him palm away an effort on goal after an offside was given, the attacking player was just trying to be cocky, look flashy and intimidate and mccarthy literally just outstretched an arm and effortlessly palmed it away. The kid has confidence in abundance and confidence is a keepers best friend, especially when he clearly has bags of talent.

Great find, will be good to see how he does when tested but I don't think he'll disappoint. More to the point he did the simple stuff well.

Did he catch a cross because if he did, hes already considerably better than rachubka.

I'm looking forward to seeing him play but look at it from his point of view, why would you leave reading to become someone else's 2nd choice keeper?

It depends whether he feels he has more chance here or there or getting to No1.

Leeds 2nd choice > Reading 2nd choice, which he currently is as Federici is so good.

I'm sure he did catch a couple of crosses, yes. He did the simple stuff well, looked promising at the very least. I will still sleep easier once Lonergan is back between the sticks.

yea well i suppose he would be more likely here given that reading have another good keeper as well and we dont. Although Lonergan is relitively young for a goalkeeper and im thinking most fans would be happy for him to stay here for a long time to come

Hard to expect Alex McCarthy to choose a transfer to Leeds unless SG assures him that the jersey is for him to keep and that when Lonergan returns Lonergan won't automatically go back to being #1. Failing that, one would expect McCarthy to go where he believes he can be #1 else there is not much point in making a move, is there?
