I think Redknapp would jump at the chance, think of all the spare time he would get to wheel `n` deal unofficially in players. think of the influence he could have by telling players if you move to this team youll have a better chance in the England squad, now where my brown envelope to put in my Monaco accounts
That's Redknapp ruled out then. He may have a strong personality (too strong IMO) but he won't take risks. He will bring in a team averaging 30, namely the old guard and Lampshade/Ferdinand will be back as first choice. As for slave to the media??? Can there be anyone that isn't more of a slave to the media? For me Hodgson has proven International record (with Switzerland) he has managed Inter twice and with Fulham and West Brom is getting smaller teams (which England are at the moment no matter what the rankings say) to play well. Forget the Liverpool episode. They didn't give him a chance to begin with and Gerrard was out of the team injured which he had single handedly done a Le Tiss for for the past few years. Liverpool have relied on Gerrard for at least 3 years if not more.
Hodgson isn't getting any younger though, much like Redknapp. I can't think of a suitable, English manager to take us past about 2015... After that, we should go back to a foreign manager, but this time one that speaks good English and knows English football well like Mourinho, Mancini or Villas Boas.
In the latest news, he will no longer be known as Alan Pardew. Mike Ashley has sold his naming rights to gain further revenue for Newcastle Utd. From today he will be reffered to as Admiral Alan Pardew, next year Kentucky Fried Alan Pardew............suggestions for the following year?
Took Switzerland to the last 16 in 1994. Managed Finland for a bit as well. I'd love to see him appointed. However, I don't think there's a manager out there who would get more respect from the players than Redknapp. Half of them have probably played for him at some point and it would be great to see England playing like Spurs. To be honest though, I'd be ecstatic to see either as England boss.
I hope the scenario never presents itself. But as a concept it would make an enthralling film, kinda Running Man & The Prisoner fused with The Hitcher & Speed
Careful..! Ol' Twitcher tore a strip off an interviewer the other day for calling him a wheeler-dealer. I cracked up watching it.
As a Newcastle fan, i can confidently say; Pardew does NOT play 'hoofball'. Pardew has done great here, he has our defence looking incredibly strong, infact, we have the best defensive record in England. He has us playing attractive football, and we are currently unbeaten in 11 games, that beung said, i wouldn't want him managing England, even though i feel he would do a good job. Redknapp will be the next manager.
That is the best video on youtube imo. If ever I need a quick, cheap laugh, then it's that clip every time. "I'm not a f*****g wheeler-dealer!" (It wasn't "the other day" though - unless he's done it again since - I've been watching that video for some time)
Whilst I wouldn't call what he played for us as "hoofball", it was certainly direct. Hence the stupid amount of goals Lambert got that season (top scorer in all four divisions I believe). So whilst he might well be playing attractive football with you (I haven't particularly noticed the attractiveness myself, but as a fan you will obviously know more than me), he clearly isn't someone who will resoloutely stick to a philosphy of attractive football.
England scraped a 1 0 win against Spain tonight, finished playing 6 4 0, not a striker in sight after Bent went off, do we know any Centre Forwards that can lead the line, score and play a bit?
Harry Rednapp for England's Manager...he would do a wonderful job Roy Keane for Ireland's Manager...he would do a wonderful job Paul Lambert for Scotland's Manager...he would do a wonderful job Craig Bellamy for Wale's Manager...he would do a wonderful job --- Which 2 would succeed, which 2 would fail?
You just stop that line of thought right now..! The person you're thinking of would probably end up doing really well and then he wouldn't end his career with us.
