Interesting when a lot of people thought we should get Dyche in here. He’s not exactly spun it around for Everton.
I think their ear is a bit prettier than ours, so not really seeing how Dyche would have improved us. May be entirely wrong.
The root cause of both clubs' demise lies far deeper than the respective managers of both clubs. With SFC it seems that the club lost its way soon after the departure of Koeman and slowly but surely SFC have regressed. At what point they reach the bottom is anyone's guess. Let's just hope the upturn arrives sooner than it has done for the plethora of clubs of a similar pedigree to SFC - Stoke, Sunderland, West Brom, Norwich, Watford, Ipswich, Derby, Sheffield Wednesday. Of that lot, I expect Ipswich to be back in the PL in just over 12 months time as they have a squad as good as SFC had in 2010-2011 and will strengthen in the summer.
Everton drawing is just as bigger problem as Leicester winning. The real time target just got higher by one point. It’s over, I don’t know why I keep looking at our fixtures and those for Forest Leicester Everton and Leeds. We’re in a position where we need successive wins and 3 teams to successively get half a point per game, just to get out of the relegation zone.
Until their last two games, I thought it was just about working for them. Five home games had brought 10 points and only one non-penalty goal conceded. And those five games included Arsenal, Villa, Brentford and Spurs (plus Leeds). Decent return. I wish our home form, at any stage this season, was like that. It duly set them up quite nicely for a massive four-game run including Fulham, Palace and Leicester. But then they lost Onana to injury. And, worse, Dyche replaces him with Maupay for that Fulham game. I think I'd take any of our striking options over Maupay. I think maybe because of Fulham's poor form at that time, he took them a bit lightly and thought he could get away with replacing a player like Onana with an extra attacker. (Not too different to Arteta thinking he could get away with replacing Xhaka with Fabio Vieira against us, when Jorginho was the obvious replacement.) To only get one point from Fulham and Palace has heaped even more pressure on that Leicester game. And it was already going to be a big game for them.
Maybe I’m biased towards our players/harsh on Evertons but I look at their team I think who would get into our side. Pickford? Tarkowski? Ummmm no one else for me. In my view they have the weakest squad in the league and considering how much they’ve spent that is some achievement. They are ****ing appalling and if they survive it would be a great job by Dyche/show how **** the teams who do go down have been managed
This is amazing. And to any Liverpool fan who thought they might be making a late dart to the top four, this is quickly ending that.
5-0 after 20 mins. **** we have still got to go there Maybe get 10 today and use up all their home goals
Spurs are clearly attempting to do something truly amazing today, lets hope they do it! Bournemouth going well too
If just one thing is going to go our way this season, I'd be fine with 9-0 being superceded. It won't though. Newcastle will stroll through the second half.
