You’re right. My mistake. The Tories ran up a £2.4bn debt and the most indebted council relative to its size and the Lib Dems are yet to fix that in a year or so. I can only hope none of the spaffed money went to Tory friends or donors for minimal or no return.
You really do take the biscuit you get told the history and reinvent it to suit your own agenda ............... THE DEBT IS NOT £2,4BN IT IS £1.9 - £2bn THE CONSERVATIVES DIDNT RUN UP THE DEBT THE COUNCIL DID ............ Conservatives were in a minority There is no mention at the the present time by anyone concerned that the intentions were not based on a strategic way forward.
I sometimes wonder about you ... or should that be worry! You often dont reply when you dont have the answer to the comment you made or make an attempt at a sarcastic remark completly out of the blue attached to a post that has put forward the true status of of an event that has been misunderstood by the poster, and if your quality of amusement comes from a post like the nurses debate then I am afraid there is not really much hope for you!
the bit he is on about covered the admission by myself that my interpretation was awry, and although I repeatedly agreed you were right in your interpretation although the later vote over rided her wish to accept, you continually brought it up what had already been established ... ! end of was called but still dragged up like the death throws of those anti LJ persons he came he did the best we have had since Cotts promotion from FIRST, AND LEFT US ON A HIGH ........ not yet reachieved ... but NP now has this next season toshow us he is better then any coach/manager since Cotts ...........END OF.
well it took about 15 posts and a month or so ... so glad you finally caught up .. see you are finally in tune .............
that is where the art of communication comes in... it is called asking a question or " I dont understand that bit " must put my hand actually all the times I mentioned I was OK with the Nurses thing .. I should have actually asked "what bit of of my last post didnt you understand" ...
Covid! Well my thoughts on it were [ at the time or even now ] it was a once in a hundred years or event. We didnt know how it would affect people or indeed who it might affect moreso than another. What was real about it was it was a real killer! I dont know how many on here knew or lost someone but it did seem to have random pattern. Now 2 years on £m's is being spent on inquiries and court cases that are likely to have virtually no sway next time a similar event comes along. ...... Lawyers representing bereaved families in the Covid-19 inquiries have demanded clarity on former first minister Nicola Sturgeon's WhatsApp messages. Counsel acting on behalf of Scottish ministers said Ms Sturgeon did not have any relevant informal correspondence. However, lawyers for the bereaved said it should be up to inquiry officials to decide what was considered relevant. This could include private messages, emails or diaries regarding the handling of the pandemic. Aamer Anwar is the lead solicitor for the Scottish Covid Bereaved group. The phrase in pink caught my attention, especially the last bit. Everyone whether 100% or just partly so, did the utmost to fight the disease and was working from a blank sheet of paper as this was a first! Aamer Anwah-------- "We have said before and say it again, no individual, no matter how powerful, can be allowed to interfere with the pursuit of truth, justice and accountability in this inquiry. "Those who lost their lives to Covid-19 deserve nothing less." .... well being dead they wont have a say in the matter, and who knows what their opinion might have/ would have been. To have contracted the disease how did that happen? I was very religious as were my friends in keeping to the rules we none of us got Covid in 2020, and some of us, not me, did actually get it after August 2021 !! So instead of blaming others and setting up an inquiry to line the pockets of the legal eagles preying on those that have been drawn into the "Scottish Covid Bereaved group". They should fund an inquiry to see if the victims had actually not been at fault?
As you said they had a blank sheet of paper as it was unprecedented, that’s why an enquiry that has FULL power to see whatever IT wants to see is so important. Next time we don’t want to have a blank sheet of paper, we want to have learned as much as possible from this event. At least then the people who died wouldn’t have died completely in vain.
So one of the lawyers who has been finding any loopholes he can to get the Just Stop Oil terrorists out of jail and avoiding big fines, has now been recruited by the Labour Party as their Climate and Net Zero advisor ! So get ready to put your hands in your pockets folks, as if you think taxation and the pursuit of Net Zero craziness is bad under the Tories, it will be considerably worse under Starmer and the lefty mob when they start preaching about it and penalising the taxpayer, farmers, industry etc even more.
It was unprecedented but we did at one point have what was considered to be world-beating pandemic preparations in place. These were partially abandoned to provide resource for Brexit preparations. Not a dig at Brexit (stupid as Brexit is) but unfortunate timing. To then make some obvious ‘errors’ driven by corruption is unforgivable. Giving huge contracts to your mates with the excuse decisions had to be made hastily when genuine PPE specialists were turned down. It’s shocking. Sitting there doing nothing when we had a time advantage over Italy was awful. We saw it coming and did basically nothing. Sending untested old people back into care. Eat Out to ****ing Help Out. This won’t go away no matter how fast Johnson, Hancock etc. run. There will be blood.
