http://www.talksport.co.uk/magazine...rroll-downing-bale-toure-johnson-and-more?p=5 Stephane Sessegnon coming as the 6th worst in the entire league, just shows he is shooting from silly positions instead of looking for the pass, as we all know he is a better player than to have shot accuracy that bad. My point is, maybe instead of blaming the strikers, you need to blame the service from the likes of Sessegnon. While you idolise him, these stats make it clear that he is being selfish and not setting up his team mates (although that may be down to him having no confidence in them, but I would have thought he'd play bendtner in a bit more often)
Strikers? Plural? Sess has been forced to play there for large periods of the season so far when its clear to all that he isn't a striker.
You could also argue that at least they are getting in the positions to have shots at goal. Nani is up there as well so at least he has good company lol
All that tells me is the a midfielder has been put out of position as a striker and done the best he can!
So where does the hole count as, midfield or up front? It depends on the system. But as I and others have suggested its more to do with being played out of position than anything else. One stat alone is not enough to judge a player on.
Played in his prefered position, I think your point would fall down, BUT, as he is not, you have a fair point, wouldnt surprise me if he legs it in Jan. back to the so called manager again.
Probably because he gets the ball in the final third with three defenders chasing him, he looks up and there's not Sunderland player in sight to pass to so he has two options, have a pop at goal or get tackled . Least he's shooting.
In what regard? Goals, assists, man of the matches, pass completion? They play different positions so I'm not sure how you're going to figure that one out.
Ah yes but, if Sessegon plays "in the hole" as chiek says - then they are both surely midfielders - in which case they dont!!!
One plays as a defensive midfielder and the other (incorrectly) as an attacking midfielder behind the striker. I am a Sess fan by the way and think he is a brilliant player but he and Cabaye have different roles
Where is the hole? Comparing Sess playing there would be like comparing Cabaye at centre back to Sess in his correct position.
Why do you invade our board with your incessant ****e, couldn't you do something more productive with your time like ingesting cyanide?
I heard their was an old slapper in the north west...who said Rooney was the worst finisher.. As much as he played around the box, he couldn't quite get it in and finish it off.
I'm only wondering if claims that Sessegnon's stats are better than Cabaye's can be substanciated, so far I have seen no evidence. And (to the abusive fellows among you) calm down, I only wanted to spark a little debate as it is no doubt an interesting statistic. Wasn't looking for arguments.
Even if they are, what does it prove? Cabaye is better in a position Sess doesn't play, i.e his actual position. You have said yourself that it can't be figured out so I fail to see why you go back on your earlier statements and want a comparison of their stats.
I don't at all mate, simply challenging the person who commented that Sess has better "stats" than Cabaye. I'm wondering what stats there are that can actually give a valid comparison between the two totally different players.
