It was noticeable in so much that it is so rare to have a Ref like that after the ‘Parade of Clowns’ we usually have officiating our matches!

If he can produce performances like that more regularly, absolutely not.

The thing is though, that was the first time that we've really dominated any team other than in the second half at Preston. Easily our best performance of the season and shows what these players are capable of. If Cifuentes can get then playing at that level more consistently, we'll be in the play-offs next season.

How did we lose to Sheff Weds twice?

Maybe biased but I think he gave things fairly evenly. Didn't fall for their diving/holding face early on but also gave little to Smyth or Dykes.

Looked like a ref who understands football and their role in the game. Far too many, especially on TV, want to be the centre of everything.

What a night! Was planning to leave at 3-0. Wasn’t expecting it to be 3-0 for us! At half time worried that we would play too deep in the second half and invite them onto us but we just got stronger. Best performance of the season.

I thought ref was pretty decent. Could not recall whether we had any history with him. He wasn't tolerating any nonsense.

Good ref, no VAR nonsense or interference - just as football should be.

All the yoga mums in the coffee shops of Brighton are talking about Steve Cook. A bloke in a dress is running in the road chanting about Lyndon Dykes being the best on Earth. The Palestine flags have been replaced with Spain for the day. It’s a glorious day to be alive.

Agree with most of that. I thought Chair could have tracked back more to help Paal, who was badly exposed at times.
    Willock was superb.
    Field was MOTM for me.

Field is so consistent that I think I overlook him when we play well. He's a certain MOTM when we get a drubbing!

Seeing a couple of the post-match El Cif interviews I thought he looked emotional and also very proud of his team and squad.

He’s talked about being humble quite a lot and I thought he genuinely exuded humble last night.

Definitely an El Cif love-in is definitely fairly due. Since he’s come in he has made differences in play, team spirit and has built confidence and ability in individuals. All the things you want, and expect, of a coach. Very well done Marti - A++ for this season. Let’s see it all again next season.
