The official announcement says Lungi has signed a new one year deal with an option for a further year, i.e two years in all if the option is taken up (by the club, I presume).
Eh? Even if that’s his focus, which would be understandable, idea that Sargent wouldn’t be thinking just a little bit about which club is his employer next season is bizarre. Unless you believe he’s too stupid to contemplate more than one thing at a time and only the next immediate thing in his life?
Thanks Bure, that’s interesting. So we need to fill two spaces at left back and two at centre back. I’m not surprised Giannoulis is leaving. Gibson’s departure to me sounds like he wasn’t prepared to take the sort of pay cut we would be willing to offer to keep him here; but who will? McCallum must have a better offer, you would think.
That's what we hope. TransferMarkt values him at £12m and at his age that would at least double and being a striker would likely mean another £6m, so probably around £30m like Buendia. That should make bidders hesitate and the same for Sara who TransferMarkt values at £16m. Rowe is currently £7m, which would be close to tripled for a 20 year old rising star.
From the PInk'Un: "City have also confirmed that Adam Idah, Abu Kamara, Vicente Reyes, Tony Springett, Jonathan Tomkinson, Jaden Warner, Brad Hills, Louis Shipley and Emmanuel Adegboyega will return from their respective loans. Christos Tzolis remains at Fortuna Dusseldorf until the end of the 2. Bundesliga season, although they have an option to make the move a permanent one." There has also been a big clearout at Academy level, with at least 15 said to be leaving, as well as 4 from the U21s (Regan Riley, Kenny Coker, Flynn Clarke and loanee Pedro Lima).
Are you seriously claiming to know this for a fact. And if not, then how exactly is it any use ias a justification for your previous comment claim that he wouldn’t have anything in his mind about his own future next season?
Flynn Clarke was jailed for dangerous driving, so not too surprised he wasn't renewed. Two CBs and two LBs, of which you'd think at least one in each position needs to be clear first choice. Good opportunity for Knapper and the new manager to reshape the defence, and also Hills, Tomkinson, Sorensen and Hanley all have the opportunity to show they're good enough to be the regular partner in central defence, or watching a newcomer take that role too. With McCallum, I guess I just want to see a new manager who plays a back 4 to justify letting him go. I think as a wingback he'd be a lot more at home.
Thorup known for his attractive playing style and nurturing young talent. We can see which way this is going.
New rumour: LCB/LB - Jose Cordoba currently playing at Levski Sofia. 22 year old left footed centre back, described as powerful and quick. Supposed to be close to joining Rangers but we have apparently approached with a better deal and said to be Cordoba’s preferred destination. Possibly just agents or club trying to squeeze Rangers for a bit more money though
Various sources are reporting that we are actively negotiating to sign Panamanian CB Jose Cordoba from Bulgarian side Levski Sofia. It appears that Glasgow Rangers had agreed terms with Levski, but the player himself is said to be less keen and would prefer playing in England: "The report claims that Norwich City are also locked in discussions over a move for Jose Cordoba and are actually willing to offer Levski Sofia more than the widely reported figure attached to Rangers. What’s more, in rather discouraging claims, the report suggests that Cordoba ‘prefers to play in the Championship’ despite having a ‘preliminary contract’ in place at Ibrox." Cordoba, a Panamanian international, is 22 years old, left footed, and not unduly tall for a CB at 6'2". Edit: Apologies Suffolk, you pipped me at the post
Three things there that I like. Left footed. Quick. Powerful. And two inches taller than Ben Godfrey Robbie.
Looks promising and agree about all of those attributes. He'll be 23 on 3 June so a reasonable amount of experience in the Bulgaria league and internationally for Panama, for whom he debuted in a 1-0 win over Canada. Be good if Knapper can manage to pip Rangers as well.
