Very interesting. Have you allocated the score with your own assessment or is the score totally stat based?

I have no idea what your selection criteria is Nass but I would take an educated guess at it being stats based. As we are all aware, stats are, by definition, historical. So we have to assess those stats on how applicable they may be to future events. A couple of really good examples to illustrate what I'm saying are Alpinista and Enable both winning the Arc. Stats would have said something along the lines of 5yo mares don't win the Arc and English Oaks winners don't win the Arc. BUT, how often has a 5yo mare had the best form in the race, and how often has a 5 yo mare started fav? How often has an English Oaks winner won the Arc? BUT how often has the English Oaks winner been better that the corresponding English Derby winner? 11/12 winners had at least 1 previous win over 12 furlong - Ace Impact
