Wes Streeting the great white hope for the Labour Party who will rescue the NHS without bleeding the country dry had ONE JOB on Sunday, to go on Laura Kuntburgers show with the six cast in stone pledges that the Labour will introduce IF Labour win the election, he had them written down on paper and practiced for a couple of hours before the show and still ****ed it up completely

The sad truth is we no longer have any true politicians in any of the major parties

Would not be the first time, that is how Ken Livingstone became Mayor of London

I would not be surprised if something similar happened with the Tories wether they win or lose

Was he ? Pretty sure he got elected to the post in 2000 ?

I grew up in London under the old GLC, and Red Ken was brilliant for London.

Remember the old Fair for Fares scheme where it was 10p for any bus journey in zones 1-6

No the first time he was NOT the Labour Leader, cant remember who the leader was now except he was what labour would describe as a moderate, the day after the election was won there was an internal coup and Red Ken got the gig

If you compared him to Ghengis Khan then he did ok as mayor

I recall Boris was a pretty ****ing popular London Mayor too.

I mean for a time he was also a very popular prime minister in all.

Boris had a good team around him that did good work for London, and he mopped up the PR plaudits whilst dangling on zip wires waving the union jack

As an individual, he's a ****in **** politician. As was demonstrated during his time as PM

So it seems the reason for the hasty election call today, may have been true, if this is anything to go by...

Do Tories do better in high turnout? I know in the US the conservatives do better when it's low turnout. Can always count on non-college educated, extra-religious, old white men to vote even if overall turnout is terrible. If everyone in the US voted the left would win almost every election, the left are much less politically active (here at least)

Left wing in UK more motivated to vote than their Atlantic counter parts?
