Good Morning. It's Tuesday 21st May ad here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

Touts charging Leeds fans double for final tickets

Ticket touts are set to make a fortune, feeding off the misery of desperate Leeds and Southampton fans, willing to do almost anything to get their hands on tickets for the play-off final this Sunday.

Ticket prices start from £400 per person but only if you're a Saints fan! According to 'Seatpick.com', who advertise seats from most of the major ticketing outlets, the cheapest Leeds seats start at £783, all the way up to £2700, or £10,800 for a family of four! Tickets for the neutral are more in line with what Southampton fans are paying.

What you you think of the supposed fans from both clubs who obviously couldn't sell their tickets fast enough, in order to make a fast buck?

German International full back on Farke's radar

German International Marius Wolf is firmly on Daniel Farke's radar, and could become a Leeds Utd player this Summer, but only if they can beat Southampton on Sunday!

He currently applies his trade with Bundesliga Champions Borussia Dortmund whom he joined back in 2018 from Hannover 96 for a fee of €5 million. Edin Terzić predominantly has used Wolf as an attacking right sided wing-back, but he can also operate anywhere in midfield.

Although slipping down the pecking order this season, Wolf has 1449 minutes of game time under his belt. He is set to become a free agent this Summer, which has attracted attention from around Europe, and Saudi Arabia, though some reports this morning indicate Leeds have already held talks with the 28yo.

Corberan warns Whites of dangers Saints pose

Former Leeds, now West Brom (Head) Coach Carlos Corberan has alerted his former club to the dangers Southampton pose, ahead of the Wembley showdown on Sunday!

His side were soundly beaten during the second leg of the play off Semi-final at St Mary's last week, but firmly believes he has identified where it went all wrong. Speaking to Leeds Live, the 41yo Spaniard pointed out how deadly Southampton were when they turned the ball over in the middle of the pitch.

Southampton outscored Leeds during the 23/24 Championship campaign 87 -81, proving deadly going forward, and capitalising on opponents mistakes, yet Leeds have conceded 20 less goals than their South coast rivals (43 -63), only Leicester City (41) have conceded less.

Corberan explained:- "We tried to play the game in the attacking half and we managed to break through a couple of times, but, in general, we couldn’t break their press and they were using our mistakes to create opportunities and goals.

"For the first goal, we have given the ball away in the middle of the pitch when we had broken the press on one side and had the chance to attack down the other side. We lost the ball and they used the transition well to score the first goal. "That first goal made the game more complicated, but the feeling didn’t change. We couldn’t progress with the ball."

Good day all. I think if we’re all being honest we’re all aware of the threat Southampton pose. Get the feeling we’ll have to produce another Norwich display to get past these

I’m more of the view Southampton need to produce a Norwich performance for us to win

    Morning Leeds fans.

You're right Eire. We know we've got it in us to do it, just a question of which Leeds team turns up - the one that can (and did) thump any team in this division, or the one that collapsed in the run-in. Going on our most recent form (last 90 minutes against Norwich!) I'm holding onto the belief that we can win this.

Yeo, our chance to the opposite of Leedsy and break a few hoodoos.
First win against Southampton this season at the third time of asking.
Break the Wembley goal drought (since 1972).
Win the playoffs for the first time.

    Afternoon all.

Our biggest weakness has been, easy turnover of the ball in midfield. That bodes well and I’m hoping Farke has learned from the last two encounters where it went wrong

Im confident the right Leeds team will turn up on Sunday

You misunderstand. When the right Leeds team turns up, we can thump anyone. We didn't always turn up.

Whilst I agree that on our day we can beat anyone in this league, it depends on what your definition of thumped is.

Using a simple definition of winning by 3 goals or more in a game is a thumping then we achieved that 8 times out of 46, which would suggest we didn't turn up an awful lot of times.

At the end of the day, an 89th minute own goal 1-0 victory will be just as sweet, although Wembley may have to use a lot more defibrillators than anticipated if that's how the game goes

Not saying we thumped every team, just that on our day we can and on plenty of occasions, we did.

Can’t see us thumping Southampton. They’re a damn good team and I’ll be thrilled if we can beat them

For me, we may either need another Leicester type performance where we really have to dig in even when being outplayed and come into it at the end (which is what Ipswich did to Southampton in the run in by the way) or, we simply need to be very clinical with the chances we get. We won't get away with being profligate with opportunities because they won't and I definitely don't see us playing them off the park like we did with Norwich.

Fingers crossed & fridge full :emoticon-0148-yes:

I never said you did, I was just asking for your definition of thumped and provided my definition as an indicator, and would say 8 games is not plenty of occasions or when you say we did, do you not mean just this season

However if you define thumped as won the game with more than 65% possession (even if it's only by 1 goal to 0) then maybe we did thump plenty of teams.

Or won a game where the opposition had no shots on target ?

At present I disagree with you, as there is little evidence to show we thumped many teams this season, to be then saying we could thump Southampton.

Of course it may happen ;)

Southampton are risk takers. They take chances at the back and then play through the press and they are away on an attack. On a good day they are very very good and they were on a good day both times vs Leeds.

I've seen them on a bad day and they can really leak alot of goals.

My definition may well be different to anyone else's! It's more than simply the score, sometimes winning 2-0 and being totally dominant is enough for me to feel we wiped the floor with the other team. I was merely saying that IF we turn up we stand a chance of winning on Sunday, don't think there will be much thumping going on!

You'll be surprised , under pressure from Leeds southampton side can collapse and teams have beaten southampton this season they have lost 11 times , Leeds lost less 10 times , southampton can be beaten by us dominating the play , doing same as we did against norwich by us being first to the ball quick turnovers , dominate and control the midfield, by controlling the ball and midfield and defenders being in place on their attacks we will win , and control the game.

I think whoever scores first wins the game. I think we are a side that breeds off confidence and I'm sure stat wise once we go ahead we very rarely lose saw it somewhere I'm sure we haven't lost a game when taking a lead I might be wrong but cant be arsed to look it up though lol. when we go ahead we seem to play with a swagger its contagious throughout the team the Georgi flicks work. Summerville comes to life, But I'm not going to sit on a fence here or lie through my back teeth and say we are a better team this game is a 50/50 call. Both sides have individuals who can hurt each other. it's going to be a game on who turns up on the day and who wants it more. All I know is both teams aren't going to hold back especially if one goes behind that's why I think the first goal is going to be really important. honestly I can't call it we could play this game 12 times and it could be 4 wins for us 4 for them and 4 draws I just don't see anything between them.

I do , the ones between them are summerville , I would like to put James second as I always feel he could score but I know he was injured just hoping he plays , gnonto just ahead of Rutter, and i know i should not say it firpo scoring is a possibility and a sprinkling of archi gray who could hold the key to unlocking southamptons defence , with defence splitting passes. Result that has just flashed into my mind is LEEDS UNITED 2 SOUTHAMPTON 1
