Having watched that I'm impressed with his abilities in 1:1 duels, though compilations only show the best moments. He also seems able to play as LB, which could be useful.

I'm guessing that our scouts and analysts have seen a lot more of him than we have. Another point is that our new funding model is based on buying to add value, then selling after improving, so we shouldn't expect finished articles to be brought in. And don't forget, we have the Soccerbot ;)

    Dimitri Giannoulis' farewell:

    “Hello Canaries,
“It’s time to part ways after 3.5 years. A period of time that helped me evolve both as a person and as a football player. We suffered, laughed, failed and succeeded together and this means a lot to me. I wish this end was celebrated with a promotion but things didn’t go as we all wanted. This doesn’t change anything. The feeling playing at Carrow Road with the lads, with the yellow and green shirt, in front of these amazing fans. I have no words to express my gratitude for everyone in the club. Coaches, teammates, staff. So, I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart. It was a hell of a ride.
    Take care,
    Dimi”

I see that Greg Broughton has left Blackburn, he was formally our Academy Manager and credited with spotting the likes of Aaron’s, Rowe and Kamara. Could he possibly be interested in coming back to replace Steve Weaver as Head of Youth Development.

Although he may consider the job a bit of a step down as he was Director of Football at Blackburn

    Connor Southwell tweet:

"Jose Cordoba. He is one that #NCFC admire - but are not currently active on. Expectation is that he will move to Rangers, but there are plenty of clubs interested. One to watch, but little more at this stage."

Southwell likes to give the impression he has inside information, but on transfer matters the club normally keep their lips tightly sealed until everything is done and dusted. What's going on, Neil?

Sara to Roma? Another one of those speculative rumours. Why, oh why, do we always need to sell our best players? Yes, it’s the self funding mantra, but it seems so predictable.

I’ve heard a lot about this “need to sell” for the coming season but I was under the impression that the Attanasios involvement would reduce this requirement and rather allow the club to sell players in our own terms from a position of strength, although they wouldn’t be pumping huge amounts in it would allow us to seek at a time we chose for maximum value in theory?

I agree Robbie, and it may be an attempt to play down expectations that he had fueled in his article on Córdoba. The usual approach to such a situation would be a denial by the club that Córdoba is a target. Roll on the rumour mill!

I believe your impression remains correct, Suffolk. The business model has changed, largely unnoticed externally (except, I guess, by the EFL Takeover Panel, who took so long to approve the involvement of the Norfolk Group and consequent change in ownership).

Not a dig at you, but wonder why people think this, there's no difference between Delia/him/the bloke down the pub owning our club, especially in terms of selling at our chosen time.
There's been no sign of MA pumping in millions to fund our transfer dealings (as expected), nor is this obvious from his other ventures. We're currently already £60m in debt to him/Delia and the club still need to meet the leagues rolling profit/sustainability rules. He will be happy to take on debt and from memory receive a yearly payment from the club to do so, as long as we get promotion at some point, to improve the club's reputation/visiility.

Taking Sara, is there any potential for his value to increase further? he's already shown his just about too good for this league, thus is about the right time to move on. for his ~£18m cost we can hopefully attract 3/4 players to improve the whole squad, not just one position.

I'm surprised Duffy hasn't been moved on after his drink driving crash .

Pretty poor decision to play him in the final games , you would think these players would have contractual obligations not to smash their £100k Range Rovers into stationary cars whilst pissed .

Doesn't really fit into our happy clappy family friendly reputation.

    Not the best role model

There are other ways of transforming the financial outlook of the club apart from having MA pump in millions to fund our transfer dealings. It would be hard to argue that keeping Sara whilst also improving player quality in 3 or 4 other positions, would result in a weaker squad than one lacking Sara. (Imagine if, in summer 2021, we had had the resources to keep Buendia and replace Skipp and raise the quality in one or two other positions.)
