If I'm backing any of our keepers ever to execute a Cruyff turn in his own box, play a beautiful ball out and then get done in transition from the halfway line, then we have no one better. We just need Fettis to come in for a session or two to make sure he can finish when he's going up for corners. That should even it out.
Today's HDM article about Sinik being given a chance to impress the new manager has a rather odd bit that's not explained - 'Sinik will head to Germany to build up his fitness in a bid to return to City's Cottingham training ground for the start of pre-season ready for the challenges of preparing for a Championship campaign, which will see the Tigers once again return to his home country for their warm weather training camp in July'. As Walter's not signed yet and will be in England once he does, it seems a bit odd that Sinik's off to Germany?
I read that as he’s going to Germany before the start of preseason and he’ll be back to start with everyone else.
Unless Sinik tries harder to get a grasp of the language, he's always going to struggle in this country. He can't be reliant on our two other Turkish players to translate everything for him.
My only issue is when super-rich invest in the form of an interest free loan, I've always thought if someone wants to spunk billions on a team, fair play, go for it, but that money is gone, there's no loan, there's no repayment, no debt to the owner. Gone.
If I had to choose one from each position it would be Bialkowski, Gibson, Sunjic and Campbell. I think Dack could be useful on a low wage deal, he is a very good midfielder. We have to remember as well that some of these players aren’t being released because they aren’t good enough, players like Sunjic and Gardener won’t want to play in League One.
I was chatting with a guy who works for a Sheik. He has a massive sports facility in the UAE that he lets Elite Athletes use for free for their rehab, Van Dijk used it when he was injured, in return all he wants is the publicity, photo ops etc. He also had a pretty good story about Mourinho when he took Man U there for a warm weather camp. Germany does seem too much of a coincidence though.
