Say it quietly, but Hampshire seem to be doing OK - Surrey all out for 127, Hampshire on 90 for 1. Cue a hat-trick...
That day could hardly have gone any better for us. Not often we can say that against Surrey. Or this season.
Personally, I was bowled over by Hampshire's performance in the field, and by Albert, Middleton and Gubbins, who seem to be able to bat on a surface that Surrey's players couldn't master.
Albert and Gubbins have decided that they've had an hour of sensible, careful, watchful batting, so now they're trying out a few extravagant shots
I must say that watching Hampshire's batsmen showing Surrey what they could have done is a very pleasant way of whiling away a few hours before 3:00 pm tomorrow
And our third opener. For all our opening batter troubles in recent years, to have three different openers scoring 100s before the end of May is very positive. Hopefully this is a sign that we've finally moved on from Weatherley and Organ at the top order.
Well, it's not very often we spend 2 days kicking the seven bells of **** out of Surrey so we need to enjoy this. But we do need to win from here so only an hour or so batting tomorrow please.
A second very good day. I think on balance I just about fall on the side of declaring overnight - there is potential rain about tomorrow and Monday - but if we want to bat on for another 40 minutes, I'd be fine with that.
