No that's not what I'm saying mate and Hall didn't go from being a worse left back than dummett and Burn in to the next Roberto Carlos in a few weeks... we saw him at Chelsea.Howe isn't a God...he didn't want to drop Burn its really that simple.

Hall was already a far superior player and howe didn't want to play him which was his right. Unfortunately that cost the club not luck, injuries or Manchester United.

Ironically injuries saved our season in the end otherwise Burn would still have been playing left back.

Hall got bits earlier in the season and looked ****ing gash. He’s had to work loads on his game. Massive interview on this on club site if you care to look.

He played vs man united away and wasn't then had a bad game along with others and was frozen out..Burn was absolutely atrocious game after game was being targeted and the manager refused to change it... I think this is where the season went wrong personally.

Halls a young player he'll be improving all the time, but he was always a better full back than Burn. Burn was also fine at cb, so howe could have fixed the situation even without picking Hall.

Trippier on the right was also getting picked regardless of form.... Howe got these things wrong imo. .. he gets many things right but I won't change my view on this one.

Still Loyal and support the team.

    Just slightly different.

We wouldn’t be here if we were not.

Besides. Things are much better than they were under Ashley.

Finally the owners said they are here to win things. Their words. Not mine.

So let’s put the ingredients in to do so.

Legs accept when things go wrong (they have this season) and put things right.

They said we'd get back into Europe and we haven't have we ? Sometimes the bedwetters are just right, but they have their fingers in their ears.

The same applies the other way around I'm sure , but at least some of us are aware of that.

Don’t forget the time he did drop Burn to prove a point. But dropping him against Arsenal and throwing Livermento under the bus against Saka.

I agree. It’s fine to have differing opinions. It’s just crap that when some don’t like others opinions they gang up on people and slander them.

    But we rise above it.

At some point it’s either going to be we win a pot and Howe becomes a messiah.

Or we don’t continue to improve and he does and someone else try’s too.

That’s just the nature of things.

The comments towards people isn’t necessary. The comments on the question asked is perfectly fine mate.

I have no issues with people’s opinions about the topics in hand. Just no interest in the insults.

Just no need for them really.

I'm going to reign it in now anyway.. the seasons gone, the futures still bright and ultimately we need Howe to succeed... at the end of the day he's doing a good job overall and it's nit-picking even if valid.

The future will answer the questions not people getting shirty.

I said pre season that 7th - 8th would be most realistic, following our over achivement last season and I never changed that view.

We happened to do incredibly well in a season where both Liverpool and Chelsea were off par. But there was nothing to suggest that would continue. Plus Villa, Brighton and West Ham all had very decent squads going intilo this season. So there were lots of good teams going into this season. And we had to contend with a first venture into Europe in long while.

I've said many times, it was never going to be a straight line trajectory of improvement trying to break up the dirty six, there will be some bumps on the way, including some created by them.

So I just don't see this season as the disaster some are quoting, as I had different expectations to some. We are exactly where I expected to be at this stage. Yes, I agree it's frustrating that we could genuinely have finished even higher and qualified for Europe again, but it's not going ro be an easy ride.

Next season will be very telling. We'll either see some real progression, or Howe could be under threat.

ETH has won 2 trophies in two seasons.

That’s a hard one to take.

You need to learn to look at things with the bigger picture. Ten Haag ricked up with a squad whose rejects included de Gea, Ronaldo, martial, Maguire etc. Eddie rocked up to rejects including Lewis, Hayden, Clark, Gayle.

    Slightly different starting points

Man United were being belittled by Newcastle fans before the game at Old Trafford and if the cup final last season wasn't enough they will now hopefully realise they're a monster of a club in comparison to Newcastle.

I keep hearing they're crap but they finished on the same points as Newcastle with another trophy.....I guess nufc fans hear all the tears and swallow the ott nonsense.

You're presenting what essentially is an opinion as fact.

Firstly, I like Hall and would hope we start him next season as first choice left back. But I'm ready for him to play both good and bad as he's just a kid and not slaughter him for that. I have no doubt some on here will as happens when Bruno has a less than brilliant match and Isak too.

I will also expect EH will 'rest' him from time to time to protect him which again would be good management on the part of EH.

As far as last season is concerned EH was being consistent with what he has done with all 'new' players in slowly bringing in the 'new' player. Think Bruno, think Botman, think Gordon. It didn't go badly for them, did it. The bedding in period will differ for each player to take into account age, experience, talent etc. A factor which isn't relevant to the development of an individual player is how well or not another player is playing.

Given how well Hall played generally when he came in I think that is evidence that EH got it right with Hall not how wrong he got it. Throw in the fact that EH has a lot more experience than any of us on doing this and sees the player every day in training. That's why I'm more than happy to rely on EH's decision than anyone on a Forum no matter how many times they make the same point.

A further, not directly relevant, point is that part the reason Burn was getting burnt on through balls was the failure of the midfield to cut out the opportunity for the opposition to play that ball in the first place. Think cutting out crosses to stop a centre forward who is good in the air. Same logic. It a team game.
