Could be he heard the Roker pie shop had closed and that Delia made canny pies , he was probably invited for a chat about their vacancy and would have been stupid to not go is a more plausible explanation and in his position I would have gone as well .

Thought Speakman was all about succession planning and looking ahead in his model?
Pie in the sky - utter charlatan.

You don't know what you're talking about. Know a few lads that were at Forest and he openly said how much he loved Safc and looked after lads from up here.

Of course he's a good coach. He got us punching above our weight imo.
Shìt signings were our undoing and he paid the price.

5 year plan and the data model my arse. They should of given Mowbray more say.
    Need a clearout now.
    We've gone backwards big time.
Dodd's and Speakman can go now imo.

When Mobray got a say he signed Dack.

He did well here but then he didn't and that's on him just as much as it's on Speakman.

No point mythologising him now as anything other than a competent coach who did a good job for a short while and then did a bad job for a short while.

To be fair we had started playing like **** before he left. Worth remembering that Beales PPG was similar to Mowbrays this season

We turned massively more shìt after he went.
He highlighted problems with the squad. Fook all was done.
He was prematurely sacked for a yes man Beale ffs. Then Dodds .
Hopefully Speakman and Dodds are history.
Hopefully KLD is getting good advice from his football contacts.

Just checked and if Mowbray had stayed with the same PPG he was getting for the season we would have finished 13th or 14th

Edit: That's actually incorrect cos Dodds got 4 of the points i attricured to Mowbray.

Mowbray got 30 points from his 20 games (1.5 per game) so we would have finished on 57 points, i more than we actually finished with

No denying we didn't hire well.

Beale wasn't a yes man though, he criticised the build of the squad towards the end of the transfer window. He just wasn't very good.

This window needs to turn things around. If we have another objectively poor season and are left with a squad with holes in it, Speakman's position needs to be looked at.

In the meantime he is here and he needs to do his work well, he has a lot to prove this time around.

Dodds can stay or he can go, he just cannot lead the first team. That's proven at this point.

I think Speakman needs to go now. He's already far too prominent to be an effective DoF.

Why not consult the incoming coach for someone he can work with.....

Don't know what that first part means. Sporting directors/Directors of Football are prominent parts of a football club, they oversee the club's football operations.

If you're hoping for one that doesn't you will be unhappy as long as he work under the SD/HC system.

Second part, incoming head coach might be more than happy to work with Speakman. We just don't know what's going on.

I think the problem we've always had with trying to create the system is coaches unhappy with the DoF. If we're in a position to replace both, which arguably we are, then it makes sense to ask the incoming coach for a recommendation.

If I was an incoming coach and saw that several coaches had previously had issues with the DoF I'd think 'hello, potential for trouble here'
