Nile John being hooked. He's had a really hard afternoon and has struggled at RB. Pity, as his talents have been wasted. Great talent, but no defender.
Lankshear has been the overall difference. Making and taking good goal-scoring opportunities. The Spurs GK looks to be a good shot-stopper.
3-1 at the death. Sloppy defending from players that think it's already over. Probably a fairer scoreline, to be fair.
Sunderland were certainly in the game and if they had converted a chance or two early on then things would have been very different.
3-1 FT. Glad the youngsters won it. They were top for the main part of the season and this play-off thing is a bit silly. Might be a decent experience for some of them though, I guess. Probably gave a few families a nice day out on the Bank Holiday weekend, too.
First failing by the GK, but nothing hurt other than pride. Well done the U21s (they have played well all season) , Now to get as many of them into the final pipeline ASAP.
That's why goalscorers are worth so much. The Mackems' first team suffered that way this season, too. Sold The Loch Ness Drogba to Southampton, who was crocked all campaign, and didn't really replace him. Maybe we could loan them Lankshear next season?
There's some really talented lads in that group - and the U18s. Hopefully Ange will find ways of introducing them into the main squad asap.
Extended highlights of England U17s 3-1 win against Spain this evening. Another brilliant goal by Mikey Moore! Early in his career, but boy does he have talent! (And the first England goal is really special skill too, but from a Chelsea player, so that doesn't count! )
