Agree with you, i had no idea who would come in and a bit surprised to see Rooney get the job, now its time to all get behind him. The ones that dont and say they will be not purchasing their season tickets, oh well they could be disappointed .. hopefully

Well, there's good news and bad news.

Good news - Leeds United didn't get promotion to the Premier League and it serves them right for thinking they have a God given right to it.

Bad news - Leeds United didn't get promotion to the Premier League and it means we'll have to host them at Home Park again.

Have you ever heard the Southampton lot? If you think the Leeds fans think they have a god given right then for me they are amatuers compared.

Did you watch the Simon Hallett interview?

The most illuminating bit is that they paid more attention to the candidates ability to develop productive and harmonious relationships with players, the rest of the management team and others. For the first time, each candidate was required to undertake a personality test. Rooney came out on top with ease.

They say you should learn by your mistakes. I think it’s pretty obvious what mistake they had in mind.

On an entirely different subject, Rooney does come across as thoughtful and personable doesn't he?

No. As far as an interview goes, it was good, certainly more open and convincing than anything Ian Foster ever said. The proof of the pudding will be results on the pitch of course and in large part that’ll depend on the success of summer recruitment.

Simon Hallett explained that the recruitment panel saw that Rooney’s results hadn’t been good. At Derby though the club was in meltdown and at Birmingham, the results were as bad after Rooney left as they were before, ending in relegation.

It’s a tough life being that big a name with the press all over your every move, supplemented by every SOAB with a smart phone. So he’s here and I will give him a chance, notwithstanding what I said in my earlier state of shock!

Now he's been announced and the shock of it has died down I think the vast majority will give him a chance and of course we are all hoping he will succeed. If he fails it will be us and our club who suffer so why would we hope different. I've already said I would not have voted for him but now that bit is over with I will back him.
