https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cv2274gdk10o what a joke we are. The one thing the Tories are good at (banging people in prison) and they can't even do that right.
Deffo not asking myself mate. Diversity is good and you just have to take the bad with the good when looking at other cultures.
I dont see how the Tommy Robinson bit is important tbh (i was unaware of that btw) The incident still happened regardless yeh?
What I tend to do is follow the video all the way back to source, until I can follow no futher, and source stopped at Tommy Robinson. He TR claimed it was 'Woodburn road in Sheffield' so the next step would be probably to google that address and look for any news items on it. I found this: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c6pp7z15m41o there are other sources as well mate, just google the address I gave and you can check better for yourself. I make no assumptions to what occured or why.
I will add one comment Sucky, the claim in the video you put up was this... African asylum seekers slaughtering each other in the streets of Sheffield UK with machetes and the media doesn't even cover it. Just the absolute state of it. Well clearly the statement is untrue because I posted a BBC news article on it, unless they mean tv, but then they should be more specific. As for the other claims I'm bored now.
It's important bcos of the intent behind it. If it's about highlighting issues around ensuring dysfunctional refugees from wartorn countries who may have seen or experienced day to day violence as a norm and therefore need wider intervention to tackle it then fair enough. If it's about spreading xenophobic hate and division then not so much.
Nah. I have to disagree. He's a **** Tommy and provided what he's sharing is a true scene and hasn't been doctored I'm willing to accept it. We wouldn't discount atrocity videos made by Hamas or Palestinians who hate Israel. We would look at it case by case and make our own determinations even though sometimes it will be biased and sometimes it will be the truth
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-69052857 Time to arm the west bank for the 12 April attacks? Edit: whoops wrong thread
I don't disagree with that, I'm not saying don't accept the video. Nor am I advocating censorship. But you do have to look at how it's spun.
I'v had a think about that video, and did think why didn't the media show it on tv and was trying to establish the differences to times the media do show stuff. I took the most recent case of the two women that were attacked in Eastbourne that received extensive coverage, one died and one was in hospital - I thought someone had been killed in the Sheffield incident but apparently not when I read the news articles again. The latest update on the Sheffield incident is 25 arrested, 10 people that were in hospital on Saturday were still there Sunday and two in a critical condition... https://metro.co.uk/2024/05/26/twen...-fight-leaves-ten-seriously-injured-20913976/ I've not watched much tv news over this bank holiday weekend, so may well have missed it, but rethinking what I said earlier, it does beggar the question why this never received similar extensive coverage or does it take one of those in a critical condition to die to receive TV news worthiness on a daily basis, as had happened in the Eastborune crime.
It should be reported on the main channels' TV news, if only because I'd get a fuller hopefully less biased overall report on the incident. And they'd provide more in-depth reporting as to who was involved and what it was about. I've read that Metro report and I still don't know. So all I have is a headline and something about immigrants but that's it. It's also important to discuss what should happen if those carrying out that attack are asylum seekers. Imo they should be jailed then deported but that depends on knowing where they've come from.
