Match Day Thread Dirty Leeds vs Alehouse Brawlers Championship Playoff Final Sunday 26th May 2024, 3pm

I think he's been our unsung player of the year. Let's not forget he didn't play much until Stephens got injured. But once he came in for Stephens, he's been excellent. Top class attitude as well, can't have been easy being stuck on the bench for the first part of the season.

 

Pretty good day yesterday I suppose

I told myself all season that I wasn’t bothered about being in the Championship as it is much better league and we are competitive etc etc

I had no nerves or excitement in the week leading up to the game, thought that would change on the day, it didn’t

Went into Wembley just thinking “well it’s a day out at Wembley, doesn’t happen very often for Saints so just enjoy it”

Then we won and played a very well constructed game of football

Then I remembered the nice little WhatsApp group I’m apart of full of Leeds fans moaning like **** and the party started

 

We’d have got autos if macca had been first choice all season in my opinion.

 

So, when I do get to meet my new Leeds supporting neighbour, do I introduce myself with the “knock knock” approach, so I can reply Owen when he asks “who’s there?”

 

He partnered Stephens in the opening games, been outstanding all season.

His transformation has been incredible. I'm not afraid to say he was once my most disliked player 18months-2 years ago, and he's been ****ing immense this season.

What a ****ing transformation. What a player. Its incredible

This will give me goosebumps for years....

 

Really hard to have to single players out as it was a magnificent team performance but the way the legend called KWP kept Summerville quiet was sensational.

The Championship player of the season (no argument about that) had no impact on the biggest match of the season.

Armstrong however, get in.

There is no other form of entertainment that gives the instant and intense level of excitement, nothing comes close. I was having this very conversation with my wife just after the game finished. Unfortunately, she then overdid the celebrations and had to have an early night. This morning she wasn't up for talking much, I'm still buzzing.

 

I think it'll be in there all summer, to be honest.
