    Hi SFC fan in peace.

I was just interested to hear your opinion of Rooney's elbow on James McCarthy yesterday?

Why does Sir Alex defend Rooney all the time? It was a clear elbow!! If that was done to one of your players then Fergie would be trying to get the player banned for life!!

Fergie sadly in my opinion needs to think about putting a foot down and speaking out and saying Rooney was a kn0bhead to do that.

That's my opinion, what is yours?

All the best for the rest of the season!

But he didn't. Any right-minded person would have sent Rooney off.

One day I would like to see a United fan agree with the rest of the nation and agree that what a United player did was wrong...

I thought he was lucky to stay on the pitch. And if you read other comments on this forum you will see that lots of our fans agree with me. But then again plenty of other players have done the same and worse and escaped with no punishment.

And SAF is hardly unique among managers in defending his players. Remember last season when Schneiderlin got sent off for you guys for pushing a Dons player over and Pardew said it was "a really harsh decision". And Wenger has never even seen an incident that put one of his players in a bad light.

No top class manager will ever come out and say their player has been a knob in public, particularly when that player has such as high media profile. Can you imagine the headlines tomorrow if SAF came out and said Wayne was stupid and should have been sent off? But I bet SAF will have a quiet (or extremely loud) word with Rooney in private.

    Are you still in peace?

Rooney should have seen red, but he didn't. The ref dealt with it, and that is that.

Honestly, there are other teams to talk about.

And the Scouse got hammered by the Hammers. Is this the end of King Kenny's magical honeymoon? And the start of the return to mid table mediocrity for the dippers? <laugh?>

Looking forward to your criticisms of Wenger when he fails to see certain events.

Obviously a touchy subject if you have to change the topic, other players have gotten away with similar but they're just talking about this Rooney one

What would SAF said if it had been the other way round.

English, top 4 team & managed by SAF. Refs & FA s*it scared.

Not having a go at Man u, class team, class manager etc but annoying how certain players get away with things. Bet Clattenburg is demoted next week for dealing with the incident incorrectly.

I am certain privately SAF is angry with Rooney. 9 minutes into a game Utd must win and Wayne almost gets sent off. Forget the public defence which most managers would do, but behind the scenes Rooney probably got a bollocking.

haven't rad the other comments here so I'll likely be regurgitating what others have said.

For me, it was a horrible action, deserving of a red. However, once he stayed on, that should have been that. If it was any other club than Man United, I don't think people would still be talking about it. I know that sounds arrogant but there is an awful lot of truth in it.

Probably the same as Martinez. Wow, it seems like all managers defend their own players all the time... <doh>

Martinez defended Rodellega for his 2 footed challenge in the home match.
