Not that interesting, but very winnable with lot of all Prem affairs as well, Liverpool - United, Arsenal - Villa, Everton - Fulham etc. if we can win and get a decent draw next time then it's quarter finals.
so lets see if mr grumpy pants gus poyet is correct, let Lambert play for Daggers and see if we are better than them
Good draw. A chance once again to play the kids and the reserves and yet still come away with a credible result (be it a win, or a replay). Obvious Daggers beating Millwall would make it even better.
Do remember that with Barnard out, if we don't play Lambert against Daggers, they may very well out long ball us. I think we need to get Kelvin or Bart's long kicking sorted. Perhaps they could score from a clearance..?
will be happy playing either of the two let the youth have another run out, only bad point there are lots of Championship teams now out of the cup so they will have less games ( can this be good for us or bad)
I think Lambert will play. He'll have gone three weeks without first-team football going into the Cardiff game otherwise.
Pity it's away, but not a bad draw. If we had drawn a big side, Nigel might have thought he had to put out our first team. He can now give the youngsters a run out for the experience. Some of the big sides will go out in this round, so you never know.
Win this, get Stevenage-Notts County in the next round and win that too, and suddenly we're in the QFs and 90 mins away from Wembley - having never once had to put a full strength side out.
And just the sort of game that's needed, at this stage of the season. I'm more concerned that West Ham got beaten, and that Boro will probably have nothing left to concentrate on after the next round.
Don't know why everyone is so against the Cup, would love a decent cup run. I sort of understand the League Cup, but personally I love the FA Cup.
