Just wondered if anyone else feels the same. This is the chance to freshen the team up. We have loaned out a few and trotta has not extended his loan. I think if we don't bring 2 or 3 new faces in until the end of the season we will be relegated.

Looking forward to seeing the Sunderland cb in action. Can they lend us a cf and cm as well please ??

With Trotta gone, we need a forward in and with saturday being a massive game aswell. I'm suprised that we have only brought in one player, he was quick to move last time we were in league.

Hayes is conspicuous by his absence. Does that not suggest that he has no interest in the team any more? If only he would come out and openly state his position, we would have better idea of where we stand as a club. Meanwhile speculation is only to be expected.

The problem we have is that no experienced players will want to sign for a team languishing near the foot of the table, unless they are offered big money. Not sure I would want to sign players that are only in it for the cash. Our best chance of getting players in is the loan market, especially younger players trying to gain experience. People may say that it is the wrong way to go but Trotta proved that there is excellent young talent available to us if we look for it. Clubs will also be aware of the fact we received money from the Ibe deal and more than likely increase their fees for players. Surely we should have a word with Liverpool to see if they have anyone available?

i agree mate younger players are hungry for success and as we cant afford anyone, loans of younger players is probably the best way to go,at least we wont end up with another permanent deal with someone as bad as halls or tunny

What's happened to bringing Rowlands back? I think he's exactly what we need in central midfield. He was a bit short of fitness but wasn't far away.

We have to be patient with signings though. Its not easy to just bring in the right players. We all know we need to strengthen and so does Waddock, so I'm sure he's doing all he can.

Not a hope of getting a legend like super Simon Garner anymore. Wages these days are so high, even in the championship that fewer and fewer players come down the leagues towards the end of their careers. Most now just retire or go into coaching roles. Shame, but a fact of the modern game

Apparantly Mark Hughes wants to assess the whole QPR squad, and so has blocked any loans etc. for the time being. So nothing doing with Rowlands for a week or so, nor Balanta.

Rowlands is on around £20,000 a week at QPR, when he joined us on loan obviously QPR were paying the majority of that. So this could be why the deal for Rowlands is taking longer than many people expected! I'm guessing if we sign him he will be one of our top earners, and maybe Waddock needs to make the most of the budget he has and can't afford to splash all the wages on one player.

Our top earners at the moment are only on £6,000 a week and that is Gareth Ainsworth, Stuart Beavon & Joel Grant - If Martin Rowlands has been approached by Gary Waddock he may well have to consider wages £14,000 less than what he earns at the moment. - This money could have an impact on his family, house ect - not a decision to be made lightly.
