IF DJ doesn't play, he doesn't score. He'll be lard by end of season.

Time to let DJ run it out. Is he still not 100%? He's on the bench. Let him play. Can't be any worse than Mackie or Smith in the same positions. I get that we might need a little bit of height up front, so keep Bothroyd and HH in and let them jump for balls, but let DJ run it out and see what he can come up with while Tarbs is out. And we keep talking about pace, DJ still has some, let him cut a few.

DJ could also play on the wing instead of Mackie.

In my opinion, he's the best striker that we have. I cry a little inside every time I see the likes of mackie, smith and bothroyd starting ahead of him.

Trouble and truth is that DJ Campbell isn't a very good player either . I rate Bothroyd as a forward player but i agree he has missed some chances.
I honestly think that DJ is a very poor player and is living on the fact that he scored a few goals last season ... Warnock brought him and he didn't play him that much or he was injured .. he cost 1.2m quid and tbh looks like that on today's values. minor squad player at best IMO .. Has anyone noticed where our goals came from last year ... It sort of shuts up the fans who wanted Taarabt and Faurlin out of the team now doesn't it? SWP was instead of Routledge and who is looking the better of the two at the moment?
Warnock first of all destroyed the side with some very bad decisions having done so brilliantly with the team he built ... as soon the desire was killed its no wonder what has happened ... in time more will see this. The team up to the Sheffield United game was outstanding did anyone notice the fall off due to the off pitch stuff? Then we won it and the first thing that happened was we needed to destroy the team and get it so called quality players ... a few have been found out but buying in DJ was rubbish business albeit the only thing that NW could do ... I say this as the horse has bolted now and we all have to keep our fingers crossed.

I believe NW ruined it for himself and the club and DJ Campbell isn't good enough to get us out IMO

Don't understand Bothroyd. 14 months ago he was in the England squad as a central striker but when he plays for us he always seems to be out on the wing. Why the f*ck are all his headers and shots on goal so slow they are like passes to the opposition goalie?

Is Jay Bothroyd really Rob Hulse in disguise?

How can you say that Neil Warnock ruined the team, the previous owners ruined the team with the lack of investment during the Summer, Neil brought in Gaddidon, Dyer and Jay Bothroyd was only given £1.25 million to spend, lost out on Graham failed to get Mackhail-Smith the previous owners thought them both too exspensive they must be laughing at Tony Fernandes having made a tidy sum for so little investment. At least when Fernades did come into the club he gave his manager financial backing that allowed the club to bring in Wright-Phillips, Barton, Young & Tarore. From what I've seen so far we are missing a man who can score goals on a consistent & regular basis, chances are created the end product is what is missing (much like our strikers).

Sorry, but that's a bit harsh for me. NW waited for Mackie to come back, and so did everybody else for some goddamned reason that I'm not aware of beside he might be able to score now and again and he really hasn't shone, either. And for some reason he's still holding a place even with MH and we have seen Mackie's clueless run about up and down.
I think DJ just needs to play. He hasn't played to get in any sort of rhythm, he hasn't gelled with the players on the field, then he got injured and he was turning into lard. He just needs to play, and it's perfect time right now, if he is 100% fit, that is.

Exactly. We have a decent backline and a decent midfield. Our stikers had either been injured or were just coming back. Yes, for sure we expected a lot more out of Bothroyd as he was very good with Cardiff, and he hasn't panned out. We can't keep winning with just a midfield. We need to supply the ball up front. And look at Heidar - he does get himself into position, which is what DJ and Bothroyd need to do.

DJ can't get himself into any positions if he's not on the pitch!

Very harshly put as ever DT but I find it hard to disagree with what you say. Yes, Flav and Bernie's shenanigans screwed up NWs opportunities to take the longer view on the transfer market but I have always said that he should have forced the issue (by threatening his resignation) early in the summer when we failed to retain Routledge and get Graham. He played along with the charade for way too long and that has cost us dearly. In the couple of times we have seen him play it looks pretty clear that DJ is not the answer to our striker problem and has done nothing to detract from NW's reputation as the manager who has never signed a quality striker. The signing of Hulse should have given us all the warning we need. The very poor performance of Bothroyd remains a mystery however.

DJ does get regular games - on the training pitch like the rest of them. If he was that impressive, they'd start him for sure.

Bothroyd's a teddybear. Too soft and gentle. Good ball skills and delivery though but unfortunately no killer instinct.

We've held our own, really. Except for the flop against Fulham, for the rest of the season, we didn't let too many in. Yes of course Kenny and Cerny have been heroic, but we have kept it rather tight at the back. We've just not scored enough. If we had scored as equally as our opponents in all our matches, to hold the big names to draws and the other top half the same, we'd be right in the middle of table sitting comfortably. After all, we're only about 10 points away from being mid-table, which is about how many matches we've been close. We have just needed to score.
