Bart Butterfield Stephens Martin Harding De Ridder Hammond JWP Holmes Lambert Lee Davis, Richardson, Shaw, Fonte, Chaplow, Hoskins, Forte Try and give Chaplow 15 mins. If either he or Fonte don't make it, but Reeves on the bench.
Then why would you consider risking some first players? Lambert, De Ridder, Fox and Hooiveld should all be on the bench at the very most. Get Connolly and Do Prado on instead and run the arse out of them. Last night they both looked like they could do with the exercise. Or better yet, make a squad entirely out of our reserves and U21s. Im sure the likes of Butterfield, Jaidi, Forte, Stephens, Hoskins, Reeves etc will be absolutely chomping at the bit for the chance to play.
I agree with db462. We should play a weaker team than we did at Coventry, as we are carrying more injuries & have a massive game against a well rested Cardiff. Trust in the youngsters, throw in the newbie, but Tuesday takes priority.
Assuming no-one is back fit Bart Frazier Martin Fox/Cork Harding De Ridder Hammond Morgan/JWP Holmes Reeves Lambert Subs: Davis Sephens Forte Guly Connolly Morgan/Cork Tunrbull (i think that is his name?) Lee? I think we need to keep it simple, use the wingers get them running down the line and whip crosses in for Lambert and hopefully snatch a win with no more injury scares
Not a bad player by all accounts. Left winger, good on the ball and a decent delivery. Not bad in the air either and gets himself a few goals. I'd definately consider putting him on the bench. The FAYC is tonight, so we'll see who stars in that.
You missed out on the bit about finding a tactic that works when certain players are out. The likes of Richardson, De Ridder and Lambert need match practise to get match fitness back and getting it here is preferable to going into the Cardiff game without match sharpness. I think it would be beneficial even if we take Richardson and De Ridder off at half time.
4-2-3-1 Bart Richardson (could do with an hour) Martin Fonte (if fit, if not Stephens) Harding Cork Hammond De Ridder Prowse Puncheon Lambert (needs an hour)
Not sure if it has been said anywhere...but Lallana has said on Twitter that he only has a knock, its nothing serious and that he hopes to be back ASAP. So hopefully he will be back for the Cardiff game!!
It is difficult to know what sort of team Millwall will put out but I don't think it is a good idea to put out too many youth players at such a hostile ground, if we get battered it will dent their confidence. Certainly if Darius Henderson starts he would eat Martin and Stephens for breakfast, so if possible we need a streetwise defender against him.
Expecting that Shaw and Chambers probably won't be available, given their involvement in the U17 tournament on the 2nd. .....................Bart........................... Richardson....Martin.....Fonte.....Harding De Ridder....Hammond...JWP....Puncheon ..............Lambert.....Lee.................... Guessing that we'll see a fairly high-strength starting XI simply because we have so many players who have been out of action for a while, plus Lee/Puncheon who need breaking in. Hopefully, that sort of lineup would get off to a good start, and a couple of the youngsters could get an extended run...in addition to Stephens, I'd love to see Jake Sinclair along for the trip.
After today's revelations ----------------------Bart Richardson------Martin---Fonte------Harding Puncheon----Hammond---JWP----Falque -----------Lambert----Lee Davis, Stephens, Shaw, Holmes, Reeves, De Ridder, Schneiderlin
Being professional footballers (almost), you would hope that they could play on a Wednesday, then again on the Saturday. Our lads are some of the fittest around.
I really wish we had a bit more info from the club about injuries. I know they like their hush hush approach but we are constantly getting injuries out of nowhere and we never seem to have a clue when anyone will be back
