He's been talking to fans recently and was asked: "do you think Saints will get a striker in?" Nixon: "Yes. It is just a matter of when. If u think about it u will probably guess pecking order timing and significance." Saints fans then said: "Hooper, Sharp, Rodriguez, Sordell? Is that the list? That order?" Nixon: "U started very well ... ;-)"
This is what I thought. Although some saying it is £1.8m, Donny fans I asked seem to say 1 and a half.
Indeed! Then this thread is closed.... until the Summer! I want to get back to concentrating on the league after Monday.
If Sharp IS willing to move south then I don't understand why we haven't signed him already. We were interested even when a 3 million fee was mentioned in the summer so surely we could have gone in at 2 million to seal the deal? I know Lee and Falque's (and possibly Collins) wages are outgoings but we have not paid any transfer fee so far. Therefore we must be able to afford Sharp and I am like Brendy and really rate Sharp. The thought of him and Lambert up top together......
As Lee was a free he should have got a decent signing on fee, unless Nicola took advantage of his ignorance of European football. Yes, a £10 pound note is the traditional fee in England. Nicola wouldn't do that, would he?
Pleased with the a loan move for Collins.....urgent central defensive cover for Tuesday required as it does not Sound like Jos will be fit enough for Cardiff either and that could leave us potentially with Martin & someone filling in which for our most important game of the season is not good. Could be the most exciting transfer deadline day from Saints ever if we're going to tie down a striker. Only question seems to be who?
Collins hasn't been confirmed though, has he? Really hope we get Hooper. Huge statement of intent from the club
Not yet, but by all accounts it's only a matter of time before it'll be confirmed. Agree that signing Hooper would be a huge statement of intent, but i still don't think it will happen.
Agreed, would prefer Hooper to Sharp but can't see it happening now. Good to know we have a back-up plan.
Just so long as we hurry up and get on with that back-up plan. I can see messing Sharp about ultimately costing us his signature.
True. I think I'm just so desperate for us to sign Sharp (I've not exactly hid my admiration for him), that I'm sort of taking a few things as read.
