Empty seats against Chelsea, very surprising. Now don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with being a small club. In fact I'm afraid that this venture we're on will cause us to lose our sole. I'm happy to support players who play with pride and give it their all. Are we attracting mercenaries who despite earning mega money put in a performance like today. I am a passionate fan and would like to see players playing with passion. I feel down after each defeat, do the players to the same extent? Last year was a joy, mainly journeymen, honest professionals giving it their all capped with the brilliance of Taarabt. When I look at SWP and think how much he is being paid and he won't take on his man and can't pass to a teammate, how disillusioning.
£40 for a ticket for this game is why many stayed away. In the last game they had tickets at all prices - Gold, Silver etc.. Today was just one price if I am correct. Also the possible chance of violence probably stopped many - especially those with kids, Which is why the Lower loft was a bit empty in some areas I would imagine.
He's trying but he just isn't good enough, it's not his fault he was a panic buy. Hopefully MH will sort out the dross and keep us up at the same time, but it's going to be a bumpy ride...
It was a cup match too, it would be sold out if it were in the league, we brang more against Wigan and West Brom
Terrible attendance today, as it was against MK Dons. Pointless building a larger stadium if we can't fill our current shoebox.
We pretty much sold out against nearly every team this season apart from at the beginning And what did you expect from a Tuesday night FA cup game V a 3rd tier team?
How many clubs sell out in the fa cup? Every league game we've sold out and 4 games in two weeks after Christmas is a struggle for a lot of people
I couldn't afford to pay for the ticket today. Having already payed a fortune for my season ticket, it was just too much to justify paying.
Many people chose not to take their kids to this game and rightly so! With all the fuss being made in the media about trouble and many warning of police about, would you take your kids to the match? I wouldn't, no way I would take a 5 year old girl, no wonder the family loft did not sell out
It shocked a few over here, less than 16 thousand for Cup game against the Scum is pretty miserable. But horrible price for a ticket.
I took my two girls, ( Aged 8 & 9 ) other than the chanting & swearing that you get at any game, there was nothing to fear. I'm not saying you should of taken your daughter, everyone has the right not to take their kids to certain games. Walking back after the game Rangers and Chelsea fans were alongside eachother, there was no problems at all. As you say, the media probably made this match into something that really didn't exist in the first place. Just out of interest, does anyone know how many season ticket holders we have, and how many memberships? I only ask to try and gauge how many fans we actually have of drawing upon.
Me and my lad have been to Wigan and both MK games last couple of weeks, and tickets bought for Wolves and Fulham, gave this one the swerve partly cos of the overhyped trouble and partly lack of dosh
I am bored of these ‘We are not a big club’, ‘we couldn’t sell out against Chelsea’ and ‘we don’t need a new stadium’ threads. Get lives for Christs sake! We got more at home against WBA does that mean they are bigger than Chelsea, or we see them as a bigger rival? It comes down to time of year/type of game, and most of all finances. Today I paid £43 for a poor game. The 2 people I normally go with could not warrant going due to money. Are they less of a fan because they miss out a cup game? Our ground is old and the facilities are crap. WE need a new ground and that is the plan. End of.
Would you build a new stadium out of your own pocket then, knowing the level of support we have? To not sell-out against Chelsea is fecking embarrassing. End of.
Early kick off can't have helped to be fair and QPR's attendance was still higher than most despite the extortionate prices
I've often wondered what sort of support we might be enjoying today had we had the last 16 years in the Prem. It is what it is. But, what with the level of exposure and moolah the PL has had since its inception, you can't help but imagine "what if...?" Instead of so many kids in the area becoming Fulham or Chelsea fans, or perhaps even Manchester Bloody United, perhaps they might now be Rs.
