To be fair I don't think hes bad player and I think he could do a job for us, I wouldn't want us to sign him permenantly though. Ipswich have been all over the place this season and when the rest of the defence is playing badly and morale is poor mistakes are going to happen.
I see Celtic have signed Brozek on loan today, he's a striker........ but could just be a coincidence
Well Barnet fans are gutted Jack Saville is coming back to us after talks to extend his loan deal collapsed - also heard rumours of him going to shrewsbury
I noticed that but the BBC article has Lennon quoted as saying he is backup so seems unlikely hes a replacement for Hooper.
The difference with the Hooper Saga scenario is: Cortese backs his manager and 'works very hard behind the scenes' Adkins will have been telling Cortese just how much Hooper is worth compared to the others on the market (i.e. Hooper £?? vs Rodriguez £6m?) Cortese will trust Adkins judgement and will also feels it is not such a gamble with Adkins prior experience. I think it's a realistic prospect to happen, I do think it unlikely to happen although I would very much expect Saints to have put a further higher bid in. I also am sure Celtic would not go shouting around if it was a bid they would consider. Its safe to go to the media ridiculing offers they won't accept. If the Bid was at a level the board decided was to be considered then Lennon would have been told in no uncertain terms to keep his mouth shut while they considered it!!! Would not surprise me if Lennon shouting about it to the press was because he knew or was told that the board would consider a substantial offer and either they instructed him to push things along with some publicity or that he himself decided to. Summary: Have Saints given up - I doubt it How much have they bid? I suspect they may well have gotten close to or reached the 8-10m I have been speaking about. Will it happen? - Pretty unlikely. I think the bid will be on the borderline where Celtic think its a great deal but not quite worth it at the moment considering they want him for the rest of the season. They will still get the same or more in the summer. Will be interesting to see how much Saints bid though, if it ever comes to light My sources? My head - This is just me looking at things realistically.
There's your answer then. I can see it being true. Compare 6m for Rodriguez to £8m for Hooper and its a no brainer. Whether it comes to fruition in our favour is another matter. I think Hooper will still sell for that money in the summer, if not more.
The fact we've got a match on deadline day could be problematic as everyone has to be focused on the Cardiff game at a time when other clubs are doing business
It is a bit fustrating. Maybe NC will be too busy in the boardroom on the phone to be watching the match. Although I'm sure NA and NC know exactly who they are going for I hope the deals are pretty much done by the time of the match.
Isn't it a full fixture list? Edit: Just checked. It's a full league programme so most teams will be focused on games so we dont have a disadvantage
John Percy on Twitter (Mirror journo) says that Danny Collins 'has gone to Southampton'. Will probably be announced sometime tomorrow then.
