Right decision but far too late. Should never have been reinstated and should be deselected from squad.
Can't argue with the decision but would like to see him dropped from the England team on the non controversial grounds that he is not good enough. And then he should be made to watch a loop tape of his 'performance' against Germany in the last World Cup for eternity.
He should have passed on the armband until the court case was over. That would have been the honourable thing to do - but then again it's John Terry we are talking about. Innocent until proven guilty. However, it is the right thing - it's a football matter (whereas his humping of Wayne Bridge's g/f was a personal matter). Right decision from the FA to make the decision for him, as he wasn't big enough to do it himself.
Right decision, wrong reason. The FA have just kowtowed to public opinion. His numerous past indiscretions should have been enough to permanently lose him the captaincy but it's taken this to do it which leaves the very valid 'innocent until proven' opinion to be there.
Innocent until proven otherwise for me. Not a big deal though, the Captaincy. All they do is wear an arm-band.
As above, innocent until proven. What would QPR fans' views be if Terry is eventually found to be not guilty? Would we accept the fact he's had a trial and gone through all the right procedures and found to be innocent, or would we rubbish the courts verdict and still brand him as a racist? (I kind of know the answer to this anyway, but still interested in peoples comments). I just don't think even Terry would be stupid enough to openly shout out racist comments at a game when he knows there are hundreds of cameras on him and millions of people watching. We shall see.
I'd say that not guilty doesn't equate to innocent. The reason he gives for the words he used seems a very flimsy excuse but, unless there's some huge piece of evidence we don't know about, I very much doubt there's enough there to get a conviction. Going through the courts has probably helped his cause as if he gets off in the court he won't possibly be charged by the FA and even in the unlikely event he's found guilty the FA will give him a ban of some sort and the punishment from the court will be a paltry fine. If it had gone through the FA only then there would be less need for concrete evidence, as was the case with Suarez, and he'd be more likely to get banned. Racist or not he'll always be a **** to me.
was on Talksport earlier that Ray "Uncle Fester" Wilkins reckons we wont win a thing without Terry! lol..the old chelsea boys do stick together dont they?
not guilty doesnt mean hes innocent, it just means there isnt enough evidence by law standards. Weve already seen more evidence than there was in the suarez case. So the FA must ban him for more than 8 games as hes lied as well.
I think it's perfectly plausible that he was saying ''I didn't call you a......'' etc. Don't get me wrong, I don't like the guy or what he generally stands for, but I still don't think he said it in the context everyone seems to.
