It must be true, its in the Star.... Somehow, Roy Keane fits the Scumbags, he doesnt have a brain either! http://www.dailystar.co.uk/posts/view/233702
Why would Millwall sign a chequebook manager? They'd be better off giving Jackett the money in the summer.
And to think he was once considered a "shoe in" as Sir Alex' replacement. Mind you, there have been a long list of those. Some of them will retire from management before Ferguson does! Bryan Robson, Martin O'Neill, Steve Bruce, Carlos Queiroz, Mark Hughes, the Wally with a Brolly, etc., etc.
Jackett would be hard done by and Keane would be good until he ask the chairman about themney he wants to get them into the champions league.........who cares
I agree Jackett has done a great job but sometimes when a team is in a rut, only a change of manager or coach can get them out of it. It is not necessarily a reflection on the outgoing man, but when things are going badly, how many different speeches can he make to gee them up? How many new ideas does he have to try only to see them fail, possibly through no fault of his own? Things just get stale and cannot be retrieved. A bit like a failing marriage, really, there comes a time to call it a day in everybody's best interests. Continental clubs recognize this, which is why coaches are usually appointed for fixed, and often quite short, periods, typically two or three years. Unlike the British system where managers are kept on until they fail, which has to happen eventually, be it three months or twenty years, continental managers often leave at the peak of their success and not always to bigger and richer clubs.
