With the blue few supposedly going out of business on the 20th, does this mean that points obtained against them become invalid/taken off? I'm not sure if this has been asked before but presumably they wouldn't give everyone wins, because teams who had rightfully lost would gain momentum on teams who had. With that considered... would the points all be taken away? we would lose 1 point and West Ham would lose 6, putting us (if we beat them and other results go our way), potentially 3 points clear at the top again? question is, would you sacrifice PFC for the sake of promotion? this could end up helping us reach the promise land! with the expense of the auld enemy. COYR! (and thanks Pompey!)
If they were to go bust then yes, it would become a 44 match season and points gained from them would be taken away.
Let's hope we beat West Ham then, and hope they slip up on Saturday... we can be 2 points clear, PFC go to the wall... we go 7 points clear! COYR!
I dont care if it would benefit Saints for Pompey to go out of business, which it would as the points would be taken away, I would hate it if they did go bust. There are a lot of decent Pompey fans who would suffer. I remember how I felt when Saints were in the ****, and I wouldn't wish that upon any proper football supporter.
This isn't a time for sentiment, this is a time for promotion... and at any cost. Football is a business and there's no space for sentiment.
If PFC go out of business it is nothing to do with us and we cannot affect it either way, so clearly as it would benefit us it would be party time. Would I feel it was wrong for us to go top because of this, no I wouldn't...just as Cardiff, B'ham or West Ham etc wouldn't care if it was in their favour.
I'd sacrifice Pompey for promotion I'm afraid. Would be the first time i think they've ever done us a favour!
I will point out once again that they theoretically should go out of business. However I am 90% sure that they won't
I don't think it will happen either, though mainly because most clubs are saved at the end. Remember how close we were.
There's a flaw in your argument, though, that presumably you don't want Saints to go up because of business reasons, but because - even if it does make us more money - you have an emontional and sentimental connection to them! It's just your sentiment for Saints is higher than your sentiment for Pomey.
It won't happen so there is no point in speculating on points deductions or points taken off other teams. Pompey will escape the winding up order, they won't get any points deduction, the FL and FA will do s0d all about it and Pompey will walk free with a new CVA drawn up meaning further bents will be wiped. It is completely and utterly 100% wrong but there is no justice in football anymore!
