    Both teams will have uncomfortable weeks and pressure will build now on two managers who will for different reasons be fuming tonight.

    For us, the pressure is off somewhat, after our first no show under Mon. It had to come and just relieved it wasn't next Sunday or v Everton.

    Maybe I'm just hoping Cest but today could be a good thing, that kick the players needed. Under Bruce it would be I'm looking for a response, I think MON will be demanding one.

    In about 1995-6 on holiday in Tenerife. A proud NUFC supporter in his team shirt and a Spanish security guard decked out in official uniform, leather belt with truncheon etc:

    Guard pointing to shirt: Senor what is?

    Geordie: Newcastle United man, best team in Europe.

    Guard: Que?

    Geordie: Yah nah man - best team gannin.

    Guard: No Manchester?

    Geordie: Or howway man we're miles better than them.

    Guard: Why if that's reet how come you threw away a 12 point lead and lost the league?

    Geordie: Or nor where yay from.

    Forget where the guard was from but was a non-football fan north eastener.

    Saw them both later in the Mucky Duck pub having a beer and a laugh.
