Anyone see that documentary which showed/highlighted why Insurance premiums have increased? It basically blamed the insurers and the blame/claim culture Insurance premiums have basically risen due to compensation claims for things like whiplash. These claims are encouraged by the insurance companies as they make money from them too, via insurance. A solicitor fighting a claim normally would be paid £200 normally, via a insurance claim it rises to £2000
Has the price leveled out between women and men yet? I know that under European law it was found to be sexist and as such they wanted to ban womens only insurance companies and said no-one could offer cheaper rates based on gender, which seemed ridiculous as all forms of insurance discriminate based on set criteria, by the definitions set out in the European courts, all insurance should be the same price for everyone, just so that nobody gets discriminated against .
