Aye but there is a lot of arse riding going on in Brighton (so I've been told..........), so the padded seats are a necessity.

Speaking of new soulless stadium hell holes, it would have to be the Stadium of ****e in Sunderland for me.

Selhurst Park - what a khazi!

The stand was made of wood and had rubbish piled up underneath, just ready for a stray fag end to set fire to it and then it would have been Bradford #2

Chicken wire dividers underneath the stands fencing off the entrances to each separate part of the stand, just like Sheffield Wednesday had at Hillsborough. Glad to get out of the hole in one piece!

Stadium of Light is good, atmosphere is fairly decent and manages to look nice as well <ok>

Its obviously not lopsided enough for WP.

And the SDA is hardly 'an old' Archibald Leitch classic is it! <doh>

I can't say I've had too many unenjoyable visits Skin but lets just say I'm a bit biased. To be honest though I do find a lot of those types of post Taylor report Stadiums completely soulless. They all look almost identical, just with differing capacities. It was Huddersfield who broke the mould a little wasn't it, that was a bit different.

Ours might be lopsided and cheapened by the not so fat one, but it is an iconic landmark in the area and dominates the city. And atmosphere wise it rarely disappoints. I do like the old stadiums though. It was great when the stands were right on top of the players. I think Loftus Road is still like that isn't it? I want standing back too.

Wigan Athletics old ground Springfield Park was an utter **** hole, even in this great pic from 1990 you can see what a dump it was, that's me in the paisley shirt BTW, so I'm speaking as a home fan, but having travelled to a lot of lower league grounds in the 80s-90s, ours was easily the worst.

Luton & Palace both **** holes.

Obviously I have a soft spot for the Dell but I agree was proper ****, did like the fact we were so close to
the players though, must of been intimidating for the away teams when it was rocking.

Lack of soul? If it weren't for the lopsidedness, you could be in any of the 'modern souless' stadia you are so critical of. The SDA has been developed so much it may as well be one of these stadiums. Soul comes with age and it seems to be often used as a defence when someones stadium isn't as good.
