He wasnt backed by the board here. Milan Mandaric signed Martyn Waghorn and the owners signed Yuki Abe. The only good signing Paulo made was Miguel Vitor on loan, but Moreno and Michael Lamey was crap.

But he got alot wrong. Players wasnt fit enough, he tried too hard to keep DJ Campbell potentially upsetting the applecart, couldnt organise a half decent defence and he kept dropping his best players. Not alot of players liked him. He had a fight with Jack Hobbs at Norwich and then a load of players handed in transfer request

Paulos spell was a disaster but had he been given time he might of turned it around or got us relegated. Sven's loan signings saved us big time That year

Class act - left QPR to join us and spectacularly didn't work out.

Thought he could have been the next MON - glad he is back on his feet again.

Nice bloke and all that - an utter and complete disaster as Leicester manager - Would have relegated us without a shadow of a doubt. Fitness levels aside, his biggest failing was insisting on a crazy zonal marking system which our squad just couldn't cope with, then not having the bollocks to say - You know what, I got that zonal **** all wrong, everybody know who your man is and mark him <ok>

Out of curiosity do you reckon he would do well as the next Hull manager?

I'm going to disagree with my fellow Foxes a little here ... I don't think he was given anywhere near long enough with us ... at Swansea he built a team that was challenging for promotion built on just about the meanest defence in the league ... I believe, and this is purely my opinion, that he would have turned it around for us during the season ... but nobody has any patience these days ... except for Dave Whelan at Wigan, who has shown great faith in his managers and has reaped the rewards ... how many Chairmen would have sacked the manager (Wolves take notice) in the position that Wigan were in with a run-in of games against Arsenal Man Utd Liverpool Newcastle etc?

Sousa was a fabulous player and is a very intelligent man ... I suspect that he will one day be at a prestigious club as manager

I think that Sousa would have had us relegated.

However, I do think that we'd have got promoted at the first time again and we'd be far better off than we are now after he was able to build his style into the club.

Players like Jack Hobbs are hardly the type when you're trying to play intricate passing football.

Nice guy, but very strange ideas that an unfit team can challenge for the Championship. Seemed to cause more unrest in the squad since Martin Allen had them cleaning toilets and playing for mars bars. I wish him well, but he will NEVER succeed in English football cos of the style of our game. I was hugely encouraged that NP and Shaky organised a fitness assessment for the squad before the end of the season, so they can be assessed again when they return from their jollies. Hopefully we wont run out of steam next season.

Have to disagree, he may have a future, who would have thought Hollowhead would have done what he had after he relegated us? Sousa will have learnt from his time with us, he did well at Swansea, was kicked in the nuts at QPR by incompetant t*ss*ers.

I wish him well, he could come back as a martinez/rodgers and teach real football again with better tactics

Sousa's problem was he had our best passer Richie Wellens sitting on the bench

If you have noticed, Ollie alternately does well, then fails. Seems a failure kicks him up the backside and he does well at the next club. When he eventually leaves Blackpool and moves again, I fully expect him to fail, cos that is his history.

When Sousa left Swansea, the majority of their fans were pleased. they were sick of sideways football, and again, they complained that there was no fitness in the squad. The English game is based on pace, certainly at our level, and Sousa doesnt seem to think that fitness is an issue when you play 5 yard passes and try and keep the ball. Trouble is, we didnt have the players to deal with this style of play. A good manager gets the best out of his team by getting the formation and style right. Sousa was a 1 trick pony and only knows one way - the way he successfully played himself. He may do well on the Continent, but I dont believe he will ever succeed as a manager in English football uless he completely changes his ethos.

.. an alternative argument is that Oliie does well when he is given time and knows his Chairman is fully behind him ... and on the ethos point Arsene Wenger, Brendan Rodgers, Roberto Martinez ................ or Tony Pulis ... ech to their own but I know which teams I prefer to watch.
