Malcolm Allen, Gerry Armstrong, Al, Bangura, Hamer Bouazza, Don Cowie, Horace Cumner, Paul Devlin, Marcus Gayle......it goes on.
Yep. He set some sort of record as being the oldest first-cap for AGES. I think he was 32 at the time.
Thankyou BHD - I have frequented other Watford Fora, but I must say I like the atmosphere on this forum best. Not forgetting the Isreali international contingent of Ronnie Rosenthal and Alon Hazan.
Then there is the Vialli era which gave us Pierre Issa, Patrick Blondeau, Ramon Vega but suprisingly not including Fillipo Galli who did not play a full international for Italy.
Just a few more to add Stephen Glass, Johann Gudmundsson,Tony Daley not forgetting some loanees Adam Johnson, Gabby Agbonlahor and very nearly Tom Cleverley.
And still they come: Mark Watson - Canada Dominic Foley - ROI Lee Nogan - Wales Vaughan Coveny - New Zealand, although he only ever played for our reserves
I remember Frenchie had a question about a team we had one week where each player was born or represented a different country. The bad point was two London born players but one played for Jamaica.
Didn't one of our former managers start off as player-manager and was a former England internationsl?
John Goodall was slightly before my time, although he died in Watford shortly before I was born. He played for a team called New Brighton Tower FC who were in the football league for a short period. There is quite an intersting bit about the club on Wiki if you are interested. He was born in England of Scottish parents and chose to play for England. His brother was born in Ireland and chose to play for that country. I am not sure if that has happened since, brothers playing for different countries.
The only ones I'm aware of are the Pattinson brothers at cricket - Darren has 1 Test cap for England and younger brother James is an Australian international.
Apologies if you just meant players from the UK OFH, there are the two Boatengs, one plays for Ghana and the other for Germany.
I seem to remember during the last Commonwealth Games there was story about a brother and sister who represented different countries at different sports - the brother played rugby for Kenya whilst the sister played hockey for England. Can't remember their names though.
