Both teams were ****, it was down to who was least **** would win. We did have a slight excuse seeing as 4 first team regulars were out.

This all boils down to us not signing anyome in January (bar two players with long term injuries). Barton had his worst game in ages, Guthrie did nowt, Ranger faded, and Enrique didn't lookhis normal self. On the BBC a commentator said he would give MOTM to Enrique. Obviously hadn't done his homework as that wasn't a partcuarly a great performance from him.

Anyway, roll on our next game (is it Blackpool next Saturday?) when we'll have Tiote, Ireland and hopefully Ameobi.

I was at the game, it was bloody awful. Both teams were crap, Villa were there for the taking and we showed absolutely no fight until the last 5 mins or so. Barton was dissapointing as captain, especially after the mid week comments. (Having Robbie Savage try to point this out was frustrating too. the man was wearing 3 watches and could hardly string a sentance together-probably due to applying to much fake tan to his tongue).
Kuqi should have come on earlier. Ranger was dominated by 2 big experienced centre halves, and got more frustrated as the game went on.
I thought Steven Taylor was a bit of a liability, thought Willo had a solid game (Despite yellow card). We need some quality forwards brought in in the summer and some cover. Get rid of some of this deadwood.

Agree about Kuqi coming on earlier, at least he tried to bustle the defence up a bit. Looked much sharper and hungrier than any of the others had.

Also thought Willo had a good game and was our MOTM. Too many looked uninterested though and Barton had his worst ever game for us. The captains armband weigh heavily on him?

Pardew seems to suffer from Hughtonitis, in that he makes substitutions far too late in the game. If he wants players to have a chance to impact on the game he should be bringing them on around the hour mark, not when there's only 10-15 minutes to go.

The most defensive Villa looked throughout the game with Kuqi on the pitch. They've got more defenders back than at any other time during the game.
