Since Evans arrived we have spent 13,736,800 on players transfers coming in and have received 13,974,400 from players going out so for all of those saying ME has spent 30 million on players this is simply not true. If we can't compete with the likes of Bristol city,Brighton etc the so called lower teams then we are in deep excrement and will never get out of this league. If you look at our league positions over the last 10 years we have gone from a team challenging for promotion to a mid-table side and if the problems regarding the club both on and off the field are not resolved it will be a real battle and we will fall even further behind. Huddersfield for example have spent 3.040.400 in the close season 7 times more than we have so I don't want to hear the FFP bullsh*t spend the money evans or ship out.

If Paul Lambert or Harry Redthing come to Ipswich I will eat my own scrotum.

We will stick with PJ until we are in dire straights (if we ever are) and only then will we try and find someone new.

Personally, I think we'll come through - with PJ - BUT only if we add some depth and quality to the squad pdq.

Rushmere I respect your opinion eventhough I thoroughly disagree with you! <ok> There is just no way that Evans is going to give Jewell anymore money to sign players, certainly not the quality ones that we desperately need! I agree with Alex Mathie's assessment that he made on Radio Suffolk yesterday! He said along the lines that ME is now waiting on which way things will go up to Christmas! I don't believe that Jewell is right man for the job and the sooner he goes the better!

I think its obvious to most people that Jewell hasnt got a clue what the problem is, note to Jewell. ITS THE DEFENCE STUPID! the same as it was last season. So what action was taken to remedy the situation during the Summer? Chambers was signed who looks half decent and a lad from Macclesfield youth team reserves who has undergone surgery for dodgy hips and wont be fit to play until October at the very soonest.
Anything that works well on the field Jewell seems to stumble on by accident, and thats usually months after everyone else could see what needed to be done but of course he took no notice. Loach was brought in as a No1 but looks no better than ALB so consequently when not enough action is taken to remedy a problem then the problem remains.
Im afraid we seem to have been landed with yet another deadbeat manager whom Evans and Clegg refuse back with some meaningful sums of cash for decent players so the players in question simply go elsewhere, Bristol City for example. I just hope Jewell is not allowed to remain with ITFC if we go on a run of results like last season, but it wouldnt surprise me in the slightest if he was.

If he got the sack, I think you'd be surprised. The fact that he managed us would not get in the way of him joining you.

Would you welcome him, if he was to be your next manager?

Hypothetical situation, of course, but you're absolutely right, Carra!

Weasel Lambert only goes to a club bigger than the one he is currently at so won't be coming here. I hope every team he manages gets relegated, or he gets sacked.

No to Harry, he only does well with money and will quickly find a way to send us into administration.

It is quite amazing that with our financial clout that we are not competing AT ALL in the transfer market, time for ME to put up or sell up. We should have enough cash and appeal to land some of the players that are choosing other clubs but something is rotten at PR and players know it. The amount of investment is clear and tells a big story of our ambitions, and faith in the current regime, causing players to think twice. It seems that being a newly promoted team has more appeal than a club who is 'doing a coventry' and slowly stagnating beyond recognition.

Harry Redknapp will not go to Ipswich so you have no worries there. He has been interviewed on the BBC Sport website - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19385142 The most telling line for me was - "When you've been working with top players it's very difficult to work with inferior players", after saying he couldn't see himself dropping down a level.

Probably ME is just getting fed up with backing a losing team and is looking for a new toy to play with?

But didn’t Lambert take over from Gunn at roughly the same stage of the season? That one worked out didn’t it.

A new guy might not have much time to bring anyone in (though it’s difficult to imagine anyone who takes more time than PJ – he’s probably still hassling Joel Ward’s agent) though he might be a touch more successful at organising and motivating teams not to repeatedly capitulate like little girls and ship four to seven goals on a regular basis.

I like Paul Jewell

There's generally something he does which makes me laugh.

Sometimes quite a few.

Ollie's comments bear out the OP:

Holloway said: “Obviously I’ll take that but you can’t be false about it. I think that’s as good as anybody’s played against us, ironically. They probably caused us more problems than others.

“The own goal, Cresswell didn’t deserve that, he was actually worried about Kevin Phillips, he got in the right position and unfortunately for him it went in.”

Don't kid yourself, he's just being kind to you after his team just thumped you! If the final score was 1-1, he would of said, on another day we could of battered them 6-0.

Nah Carra, it was nothing like the Posh debacle. Ince was simply playing out of this world. It was like watching Chelsea of a few years ago tonk everyone.
