It shocks me.... In fact I am more surprised Mr Comolli has not cottoned on to Wor Shola's talents. He has spotted our other players/potential transfers just after we declare interest/make them good.

Gordon Banks + Bobby Moore + Brazil '70. That'd do for me.

I admit I am no expert on the great players in history, I put together what I would think to be the greatest 11, I think this team would be very difficult to beat and that is why Keane is in there he imo was absolutely brilliant at what he did and even caused Viera to bottle it before a game even started:)

I wouldn't play Ronaldo with Pele and Maradona, I left Pele out for that reason, di stefano messi and maradona and cruyff could play anywhere in the attack with keane in front of Beckenbauer Maldini Ayala and cafu, both cafu and Maldini can get forward too, awesome back line with Keane holding while the rest run amok on the poor opposition playing pretty much anywhere with MvB up front

    Orr
    Fowler
    Fowler Fowler Fowler Fowler
    Fowler Fowler Fowler Fowler
    Fowler Fowler

That may be so. But you asked for the best players in every position, not who would play best together. Pele should definitely be in there.

Good selection, so many to choose from, Batistuta the best header of a ball in the world ever!!

I did ask people for their 11 but they seem intent on debating mine instead:) I mean, we will never know how these combinations would work out so I guess it is pointless debating if it woiuld work:)

Watchin Chelsea Spurs on a Dutch stream, was a goal, ball just crossed the line as in no ball was touching the white line bewfore the hapless keper pulled it back, the linesman is lucky cos he couldnt be sure

    or was it:)

I'm also trying to form a balanced team hence the, probably controversial, inclusion of Makelele. Could probably replace him with Matthaus for aesthetic purposes - Matthaus was a better all round player but Makelele would give more support to my marauding front five ;)

    ------------------Banks
    Cafu--Beckenbauer--Moore--Maldini
    -----------------Makelele
    ----------di Stefano---Platini
    ------Maradona---Cruyff---Pele

Banks yeah, I was thinking Banks or Felix.

I think Maldini is a universal selection, what a player what a pro. Cruyff too, I like Di Stefano because he can pretty much play anywhere in that attacking 5.

I don't rate Felix all that highly - he did great in the 70 WC, but then I could probably have kept goal for that team and they'd still have won! I was torn between Banks, Yashin and Schmeichel. In the end my England bias overcame my United bias and the fact that Yashin may just have been a little bit better than Banks... ;)
