It is truly shocking to see these two "tweeting" about the club. What the hell happened to professionalism? I fully understand fans on there and players, but the owners need to be much more aloof, take a much more professional and considered view of things, and tell the world their actions on the official website or via official press media when they have made decisions and are acting on them. They can keep us fully informed via the OS, and take advice on what they are saying too before it goes out. O'Leary failed by opening his mouth too much on issues that did not concern him; PR Pete was a twat for doing the same. Does anyone else want to be kept informed in a professional manner, rather than through this drip feed of 140 characters that just looks so amateurish. Get the **** off twitter you fools!
No matter what has been said I have to agree, two owners who as Sheldon says, drip feed feelings and info in under 140 characters but can't tell us officially what the hell is going on, what their plan is, what they actually purchased or see this post http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/189631-Happy-now?p=4065468&viewfull=1#post4065468
It's the stupid tweets. Smily faces and I'm happy. Twitter then goes into meltdown thinking we've signed Messi or something whereas they've probably just eaten a Big Mac. Have to agree, it's pretty pathetic stuff
Salem Patel ‏@SalemPatel VERY VERY disappointed Reply Retweet Favorite 360 Retweets 58 Favorites 11:28 AM - 12 Jan 13. total carnage ‏@TotalCarnageMFC @SalemPatel Have you just realized that you bought Leeds United and not Leeds Rhino's?
See? It invites stupid comments from complete....... finish it as you wish. No offence, TC, it was actually quite funny
Don't think that's what LUFC would have said to Paddy Kenny. Cashley Cole bacame undone with a 'personal' account too. Point is that it doesn't matter whether it's work or personal - it's still out there & is no defence.
I don't have a twitter account so it isn't possible for me to follow them yet I still get to hear what goes on or what is said through news and forums
But what have they said exactly that could be trouble? People's issue is that whatever they say on their personal twitter accounts gets blown out of proportion by fans who treat everything they say as official, I don't think that's their problem.
In any walk of life when you want to be the best, you copy and emulate the best. Think of any other owners - how many use twitter to talk about their club? These aren't just personal accounts, these use the lufc brand throughout. There is already a new official lufc twitter account, but at least that requires others to check the offering before it is tweeted. This is embarrassing and could be their downfall, it's amateurish and unprofessional
Thought you lads loved Twitter? Wasn't 't there a thread about how big a following Leeds have on it, biggest in the country or something? I'm not on the rise but maybe these two blokes( never heard of either to be honest) just thought that it would make them popular. Ill judged and rather foolish but that's maybe the reason behind it?
David Gold? Daragh MacAnthony? That's just straight off the top of my head and they openly talk about signings.
Just another means of communicating with a different generation. Used by politicians to great effect ie Obama in getting people on their side. All depends on the content. Subtle hinds about having a good day wear very thin after a while. There are many interesting and entertaining people on twitter. Unfortunately Haigh and Patel are not yet
I don't do Twitter, I just can't see the attraction. No doubt it's a useful tool to get across to the masses but I 'm not sure discussing transfers on there is the brightest idea I've ever heard of. Not saying these two have but it's been alluded to that other chairmen do it. Maybe it's just me?
In an ideal world, they'll do more LUTV and official interviews, and talk to the Trust in good measure too. But you can't fault them for their engagement with fans so far after the supporter-hating Bates ****storm we've just left behind.
They've only done twitter when we were winning. Stupid stuff like great result MOT. Since we hit our latest **** spell, they've disappeared from twitter
After the Barnsley game, Patel wrote "VERY VERY disappointed" [his capitals] and was answering tweets from others. It's not what the best do, and they have the ability to tell us what we need to know via the OS, via LUTV, via the official LUFC twitter account, via Yorkshire Radio, and via press briefings. By holding their tongues (or in this case, fingers) they can consider their actions much more sensibly and over time, and take advice about their communications. Their own twitter accounts are not a professional way to pass on their views. They could use it as a method of gauging opinion, by asking questions and awaiting answers from the very many people who follow them - but it comes with a warning: we know already that we get imposters on every forum. So who is a fan and who is not?
