Saw this and it got me thinking that we could do a lot worse than going back in for this lad.... he is French after all.....

    http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/8558207/?

Paris Saint-Germain striker Kevin Gameiro admits it is not easy having to sit on the bench.

The French international impressed in the Champions League last week when he came off the bench to set up PSG's equaliser in the second leg of their last 16 clash with Valencia.

He was again on the bench for the weekend win over Nancy and he has generally been limited to a substitute's role all season.

The 25-year-old, who has been strongly linked with Liverpool and Newcastle in recent times, admits that he will consider his options at the end of the season.

"I want to play football every time, I am no different to any player," Gameiro told Sky Sports.

"It is difficult to sit on the bench but all big clubs in Europe have the same problems, you can't play every game but being involved is good.

"I always wanted to play abroad. At the end of the season, hopefully after we win the title, we can decide about my future."

The likes of Borussia Dortmund and Valencia are also said to be keeping tabs on Gameiro.

Good player, if we can get him at the right price. Wages could be a problem though IMO

He'd be a good signing. I have been impressed by him when I've watched PSG. Quicker than I thought for a start.

Seem to remember Gameiro being mentioned at the advent of not606, might have been by Badger, heard he's got quite a bit of baggage.

Him or Aubameyang would be perfect.

Dont think we have a chance of getting PEA, bigger clubs are now sniffing around him. Gameiro's profile and therefore value seems to have dropped in the last couple of years so there could be a chance. I wonder hoe many 'mates' he has in the current nufc dressing room. Could be a factor when push comes to pull.

He wasn't merely being mentioned. The place went bananas for an entire summer with rumours he would sign

    Ahem, it was me!

Been a lover of Gameiro for a while and was gutted he turned us down. I really thought he was our next hero. His round game is brilliant, scores goals fun with his head and both feet. I just don't see him as a financially viable option for us anymore. Aubameyang and Gomis are the likely targets.

Would have been a bargain back then, but what will be will be. We haven't done too badly without him.

If we'd signed Gameiro that summer we wouldn't have signed Cisse in the January. Meaning we probably wouldn't have finished 5th.

But I suppose you could spin it the other way and say Gameiro could have scored more goals from the summer and coupled with Ba we could of mounted a title challenge, so who knows.

I think he'd be brilliant for us but he'd be expensive to buy and wages could be a stumbling block now.

I fully expect Aubameyang to be wearing B&W and gracing the SJP turf next season.

    We dont need him

    He needs us.

No from me. I think let young Adam Cambell have a few games next season rotating with Andy caroll. dunno if they ever got on, why not id rather do that than pay a potentially average player 50k a week who is just piggy packing.

I've said for over a year that Campbell will be a big star for us.
He has a natural goalscorers ability.. although I once said that about Chopra.

Insidefootbol are talking about Gamerio being put back on the market for a listle as 7m Euro and us having a firm interest.
Would this lad be worth a punt?
I know we were knocked back before but we obviously rate the lad and at the end of the day he will improve our squad surely?

Why not. He is a quality striker who chose a bigger club initially.

I'd take him purely because we need proven quality and he will deliver that.
He was our first choice a while back so what has changed?

    If he's available why not?

ACS has said he's a looker, do you know what, I've never noticed, will now make a point of giving him my full attention, <diva>
